This was a complete waste of money.

Summary: I bought one of these several years ago and it was fantastic and worked wonderfully. The only reason I bought this one was to replace the old one that died (same maker and nearly the same model, but this one does have much better resolution). I was very highly disappointed in the fact that Logitech has seen fit to shorten the cord significantly. My old one had a nice, 6 foot long cord. This one was lucky if it made 18" of cord.
Summary: Great, high quality video, but sometimes it doesn't open the lens all the way and it makes the video really dark. Had to download a 3rd party program to adjust, now it works fine (if I start the software first). Overall, a great product.
Summary: The Logitech QuickCam for Notebooks is awesome! My picture shows up very clear on it and I had no problems with it. I like the size of it as it can easily fit in my notebook. I gave the item 5 stars because it shows a clear picture as I expected it to. I would definitely recommend others to purchase the product for their notebook. Whomever said a negative comment about this item must have been because of negligence on their end from not handling the product with care.
Summary: i am not a technical person, but i plugged it in and it works perfectly every time. i use it mostly for video messages. more fun than straight email. the message must be short so the file will not be too big to send.
Summary: I bought three of these for my computers at home. They work surprisingly well for the price. I've seen reviews that say the video is "washed out" or too bright, but I'm using my computers in a not so well lit basement and the image is pretty good, even in partial darkness. In fact, I was amazed by the light capture ability of these low priced units. The image quality is at least as good, and more sensitive to light than my Logitech Webcam Deluxe.
Summary: This isn't a top-of-the-line webcam, but it doesn't cost much either. To be honest I bought it because of its shape - to build an omnidirectional sensor for a mobile robot. I haven't gotten to that yet, but I have tried out the camera. I think it will do nicely for most people's purposes, which is video calling. It's very easy to install, and there is software which many will find convenient.
Summary: It's not a high-def webcam but it does take in light very well, and always makes the pictures really great. I am pale, so it washes out my skin and looks good (hides blemishes, dark circles). Maybe not the best camera if you don't like looking washed out. It also seems to be pretty sensitive, so handle it carefully. My first one broke after a year because I dropped it several times.
