Summary: Really needed a webcam since I had an older laptop. Got this one mainly because of the price. It is not great quality and most laptops nowadays have a better webcam than this. But it has a microphone and its decent quality - it has worked fine and is reliable so a good cheap buy if you need one.
Summary: I purchased this for my parents to use on Skype. This camera drew my attention because it was easy to use, worked on Windows XP Home edition, and had a built-in microphone. The audio from the microphone is surprisingly good, and the camera quality is certainly good enough to use for video...
Great picture, friendly packaging, no Windows driver needed
30 December 2009
Summary: Since I've only seen two webcams in action, I don't have a lot of experience with them, but the Logitech Quickcam 3000 has worked great for us. No needed driver, easy-to-open (and recyclable!) packaging, and a great picture make this a great purchase.
Pros: I must admit that this is my first webcam purchase. I bought a number of them for our company. What's great about this webcam is that it's truly plug-and-play. I didn't need to install the bundled software, which I prefer not to do in a business environment. XP and Windows 7 installed the driver ...
Cons: The only con I can find is that it's a little hard to move the manual focus ring with one hand since the surface is tapered. I have to hold the webcam in one hand and twist the focus ring with the other. This is a very petty issue though.
Summary: I was looking for a basic webcam with the option of using standard a tripod-thread mount. I thought this would be an easy thing to find considering the usefulness of such a configuration; most webcams have an obnoxious clip of some kind to supposedly attach to the top of a monitor, none of which...
Summary: This product does not work with windows 7, the driver package will not install and logitech does not support this device. I really thought we were beyond the days of lame excuses for developers, but apparently we are not. If you own Windows 7, DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.
Summary: This is one amazing little webcam for the price. The picture quality is VERY decent with a manual focus lens and the mic is very good. The flip-style base works better than the bases found on more expensive webcams and the tripod socket is EXTREMELY useful.
Pros: This camera works great with Skype on Unbuntu Linux 9.10. After connecting the camera, go into the sound control panel and change the input to the camera mic. Great color nice picture ok mic works without adding any drivers
Cons: The camera worked fine, but not the mic in Unbuntu 9.04.
