Good video, bad audio. Don't buy if making music videos for YouTube.
18 March 2013
Summary: I bought this web-cam hoping to use it to record YouTube music videos. The video is good, but the audio is horrible, as far as music goes. I sing and play the acoustic guitar. The mics are crap for music reproduction. I will need to buy an external mic to make this work.
Summary: I bought this camera to do game casts for my youtube channel. I bought it more for the mic than the camera. I figured a camera this expensive would have a good mic built into it. I was wrong. The video is great but I don't use it enough. Going to return product for a stand alone microphone.
Pros: Very high resolution, high fps recording. Software that came with camera is good.
Cons: Very poor audio. Sounds very tinny/under water.
Summary: I would give this webcam 4 stars, but I almost gave up on this webcam because of the software/physical device detection issues. Plus, I haven't had a chance yet to play around with all of the webcam features.
Pros: Good picture/video quality. The software installation itself is pretty easy and straightforward.
Cons: It took me almost a week to find a way to get the Logitech software to detect the physical webcam in Win7-64bit. I had to go into the Device Manager. Under USB controllers, I changed the Logitech Webcam device to a USB Composite Device by choosing Update Driver and then manually selecting the dev...
Doesn't "attach" securely though good for home videos/snapshots. For video-calling, certain advantages over average webcams.

Summary: This product seems very good for making/sharing home videos, as the sound quality (via duo microphones) is quite excellent, and the image resolution is truly astounding in my opinion. However, I believe that this quality is somewhat limited to the purpose of making videos or taking snapshots.
Summary: I specifically bought this camera because I wanted Mac compatibility. It's great as a camera for Skype, but none of the advanced features (motion, face-tracking, or basic camera controls like brightness/saturation/etc) work on Mac which was a bit misleading since it claims Windows and Mac support.
Pros: +great quality image +good low-light quality +very good software under Windows (motion-detection, face-tracking, camera control) +plug-n-play on Mac (see cons)
Cons: -none of the controls work on a Mac and there's no Logitech software that enables stuff like motion-detection, face-tracking, or the camera controls. I found some bulletin boards on the Logitech support web site that seemed to indicate support is not coming anytime soon either. -the magnetic clip...
Summary: The title pretty much says it all. A true 1080p sensor means it has the potential to do 1080p video calling once software and networks are up to the task, but the bracket leaves a lot to be desired (bordering on being non-functional).
Pros: -True 1080p sensor means this camera is pretty future proof. -Stereo microphones allows for excellent noise cancellation. -Auto-focus works perfectly so long as you don't have anything moving in the back ground, like a TV. If you have a TV (or something else that moves; cars outside your house, e...
Cons: The bracket doesn't even fit on my monitor (ASUS VE247H) - or at least it doesn't in the middle. I had to put the camera just before the left-hand 1/3 point in order for it to fit (it would fit even better at the very edge). This means I need to zoom and aim the camera in order to not be sitting ...
Summary: The whole Logitech/Skype marketing pitch about HD is a lie if you are using Mac. If you are using non-logitech apps like Skype, GTalk, PhotoBooth, etc. you won't get HD or widescreen picture. These application rely on UVC driver which currently doesn't support HD for this camera.
Summary: Please be aware that this camera still uses the UVC driver on Mac, even when you install the Logitech software. It will not support HD calling or recording in anything other than the Logitech software. Bria, Skype, VidyoDesktop, Facetime HD.
