Summary: I bought this to replace an older cheaper webcam. I like my older one better. This is great for pictures. Great with dim lighting. But I was using it to record videos and sing. And it sounds terrible. Wish I could take it tack. It's muffled and sounds like you are far away and in an empty room.
Summary: This really is not an HD webcam. It so low quality I can make better videos with my old digital camera. It works fine for skype. I wanted to use this webcam to make video for youtube but that won’t happen. The pictures are too dark or too light. Also, they just look horrible. It must be a Nintendo 2DS camera on steroids. Yes this toy won’t break but it a toy for little kids.

The C270 is the cheapest of the HD webcams currently available from Logitech, but I would recommend upgrading to the C525 as the quality and field of few improvement is significant. I found the C525 on overstock dot com for $28 (refurbished) and I would suggest going that route, or the C615 if you want a little wider field of few and a threaded camera mount (e.g. for a tripod).

I also used this as a microphone when playing games. But after this great usage time it suddenly died out of nowhere it is detected but only as a USB Composite device and whenever I access the Logitech software the green light on the lens turns on but the software doesn't detect the...
Summary: I had this webcam for a year. Now nothing will stream video from it. I've tried Windows movie maker, iMovie, Photo booth and Skype. It seams like it just died. Before it died it worked great and was a good basic webcam.
