Summary: My criteria for my current webcam were: 720p Autofocus Mic This one fit the bill at the right price. It's performed as well as my previous Logitechs, but the picture is way better. I use it as an interactive device and the response time is much better than my older webcam. The autofocus works well enough for the price, occasionally momentarily adjusting out of focus when it was already focused. But it's still way more convenient than dealing with manual focus.
Summary: This tiny camera is perfect. I have relatives overseas, and with this camera and my Skype program, all I do is dial, and poof, just like Dr. Spock's transmitter, we can see each other - oh yes, they have to have a camera too!
Summary: When I Skyped with my son, whose serving a tour in Afghanistan, I noticed the poor quality of the video from his cam. After finding out that he bought it in 2007, I knew what I could get him as a gift. I did a lot of research before purchasing this one. He is very happy with it and now his image comes through so much clearer than it did before.
Summary: Quality is ok for low resolution pictures and video but the highest quality makes the video slower and it skips. The downside was the very short cable which is maybe 2 or less feet long. It might be good for laptops but not for PCs or Macs. I use it occasionally for skype so it meets my needs. Picture filters make the video chat fun at times. Recommended for started but don't expect too much.
Summary: easy to setup. I love the stand option. I didn't think I would need it, but it turns out my 2005 flat panel LCD monitor was still too thick for the clip (I think the clip is designed for laptops though....) the camera does a decent job for local video capturing. It tends to lose focus here and there when using it as a webcam (tried it on Google + Hangout & Skype & Microsoft Lync) overall it's not as high quality as local video capturing, but it is expected to some...
Summary: I bought this camera for my desktop computer. As such, the cable needed to be long enough to travel down the back of my monitor and into the back of my PC. Unfortunately, this camera comes with a tiny USB cable--only 3 feet long--so you'll probably need to purchase a USB male-female extension cable if you're not using a laptop. Other than that, the quality of the camera is excellent for the price! I highly recommend this camera for anyone looking to video chat.
Summary: I keep receiving excellent reports from my Skype contacts about the sharpness and clarity of the picture. Auto focus simplifies matters, but the closeup setting has me impressed. Auto or manual white balance, exposure, gain, brightness, contrast and color intensity controls are readily available for fine-tuning the picture or, let the auto setting do the job. Quite a camera! I ordered me two more, Holiday gifts for relatives.
Summary: Amazing product. It makes quite a difference using it. I bought this and after talking with my family, they were surprised to see the high quality. So I bought one for them too :) Too bad it's used only for Windows.
