Summary: I purchased this camera for my day to day use with Skype and my Google accounts so that I could provide video conferencing and calls. It's not normally easy to do this as I am a user of Ubuntu Linux. Using this camera with Ubuntu 10.04 LTS and 12.04 LTS has been fantastic! Plug it in, and it just works (tried with Ubuntu GCVUE app) Video is sharp and clear, with auto focus working just fine at ranges between 3 and about 12 feet.
Summary: Decent quality picture. Very easy to setup. Software can be easily found and download via manufactures website. Good mic..you dont have to scream at the computer, just talk regular. I would recommend this.
Excerpt: When we Skype the picture is perfect & the sound quality is great. We have found that it is very sensitive. when you move the adjustment keeps appearing & the auto focus is constantly adjusting. This maybe operator lack of knowledge.
Summary: The camera itself, great, quality and everything, works just fine. But when i take a video, every once in a while it just leaves a white thumbnail with the Logitech logo on there and i can't access the video whatever i do.
Excerpt: For being a non-techy person, it installed fine. Bought it to Skype with my son and my roommate's daughter - he is tutoring her, but can't get the Skype to work. So, now I have a webcam and don't know what to do with it. It will cost somewhere around $150 for someone to come out and figure out why the Skype doesn't work.
Excerpt: This web cam has very good quality video, both close up and at a distance, the audio is great for video messaging. I sometimes record quick small guitar video clips, and the audio seems to have an effect added to it that is a little unpleasant in my application, so I decided to use an external microphone instead of the microphone built into the camera. Overall a good value.
