Logitech Webcam C60 with the November 2013 software: apuzzle

Summary: IMPORTANT! This review applies to the software Update I received today, November 18, 2013. I bought this webcam about a month ago and upon installing it I got a message saying that as of early June 2013 Logitech has discontinued support for the VID communication feature, which is one of the selling points for this model. Today I received and installed a software update which is probably the most unfriendly thing I I have ever encountered.
Summary: This webcam is perfect for video/audio chat. It works best when there is sufficient lighting, which is usually the case, all that is needed in the dark is a single overhead light/lamp. This has been dropped many times, and is still working perfectly. Very simple to use as well!
"Updated" software removes feature functionality... Dirty pool, Logitech.

Summary: I've had, and been reasonably happy with, the C600 for about 18 months now. No complaints on the product for the price paid... until today. Logitech, in an effort to expedite the death of this fine product and force customers into a new product, has removed the video effects from the "official" software (Win 8 users, I'm looking at you). If you update (or worse, the software auto-updates) you lose ALL functionality beyond standard video/photo capture.
Summary: I bought this as a 2nd webcam after our son gave us one a year before. It is so clear in picture and sound and I like being able to close the shade for security. I've recommended at least 3 people to buy THIS ONE from amazon and they won't be unhappy!
Summary: There's no way this camera has a 2 megapixel sensor. The snapshots it takes are blurry and grainy like a early 2000's camera phone. The driver software is bloated, weighing in at 71 megabytes.
