Summary: I had to install the software for this webcam twice before it would function with Facebook or Skype... I ended up having to download the drivers from the internet... it was fine, but a hassle.
Summary: I chose this product because I already owned an HP Laptop. I gave it a four star rating because of the quality picture it produces. I have previously researched this webcam against the Logitech C920 and both proved to be very high quality.
Summary: I bought this webcam to replace my other HP webcam and I have it on my desktop computer. I don't use it much but I do like it a lot and would recommend it to people who want/need a small reliable quality webcam to communicate with family and friends.
Summary: The HP Webcam HD 5210 offers excellent quality and an array of features. Having used the camera for both recording and video chat, I can say that it's a great all around camera. Installation was extremely quick and simple. It was ready to use in a matter of minutes and quickly picked up by Skype and several other messaging/video chat programs. The video chat resolution goes up to 720p and is suitable for just about any use.
Summary: This is an excellent webcam for usage with Skype and other videochat. Hardware accelerated 720p video and full skype certification. The only place where this webcam falls short is the software; the HP webcam software is very limited compared to Logitech's. However I like the hardware better than Logitech's hardware. Thus, if you don't need all the frills and just want a solid Skype webcam this is a sure bet.
Summary: This is a product you can count on for ease of set-up, allows for more than one person for video chat, and the voice quality is clear. I recommend this for our military families to keep in touch and the personal connection with loved ones.
Summary: I use this at my office with a MS Lync UC setup and it works great. The cam is low profile and not an eye catcher. My setup is Windows 7 x64, MS Office 2010 and MS Lync running on a Dell Lattitude E6420... The camera doesnt appear to tax the system managing a video feed to the MS Lync system and while it doesnt improve my appearance, it has a decent array of brightness and contrast settings to compensate for the flourescent tube lighting that we all live in at work..
Summary: I tried out this camera on my desktop computer, which is several years old. Plugging the camera in was a bit tricky because the cord isn't very long. My tower is on the floor and the monitor is on the desk, and the cord was just barely long enough. The camera did attach nicely to the monitor, however. Installation was very simple, and only took a few minutes. And then we were able to play. I have a co-playtester in my 4-year-old son.
Summary: The HP HD 5210 Webcam is a great little computer camera that delivers good quality video and audio. It's fairly user friendly and easy to set up, and for someone like me who has little experience with external web cameras, the quick set up is a bonus. The only downside is that is only good for PCs, so I'm using it in Boot Camp on my Mac. But other than that, it's a good, solid webcam.
