Summary: The camera comes in a new shiny box which probably makes it a nice looking gift. I own a few cameras, mostly from Logitech and I must say that in terms of performance, this is not up to par with high end Logitech offers. Pros: The camera is Skype certified and it works flawlessly with Skype. The microphone is performing well even for larger rooms. The camera looks stylish. I usually don't care about the looks over the performance but it does look nice.
Ok but there are better ones out there for the price

Summary: The HP webcam is pricey but the high price is not justified for the product itself. First off, it is not powered by an USB unlike the Logitech cams. It also drains a lot of CPU as opposed to the Logitech or the MS Lifecam. I also didn't care for the design since it reminds me a bit of those old time surveillance cams. Overall, the $99 price tag is not justified. Better off with Logitech.
Summary: This webcam is supposed to be top of the line from HP. However, in my trials it does not compete with the flagship offerings from other makes, such as market leader Logitech C910 or Microsoft Lifecam Studio, which I also own. In fact I think it barely compares with a 2nd tier products like the Logitech Pro9000. Let me try to break it down: Likes: -It is smaller than it looks in the picture and fairly slim and light.
