Summary: We buy a lot of HP equipment at work, so I was expecting a good quality web cam. Wrong! First, the image quality is absolutely horrible in office lighting. The image is extremely noisey, terrible colors, and looks worse than cameras from 10 years ago. Second, the software that comes with it is actually from a 3rd party and crashed constantly while trying to install it on our Windows XP images at the office.
Summary: This camera is touted as being Macintosh compatible on several web sites with links directly back to Amazon.com. The camera IS NOT COMPATIBLE with macs unless (possibly) you make the assumption that all mac owners have intel macs and even then it may not be. It is not plug and play, none of the software that comes with it and the only true review I red was the one that said the directional arm swivel does not work.
Summary: While highly rated by some reviewers, my experience with this webcam was not good. Low light performance was marginal with a lot of noise and color accuracy was poor. Worst of all, after the unit warmed up, there were many random blinking pixels that would wink on and off. Some of them would stay on permanently. These were not stuck pixels, but something else. They were not there when the camera first started up, but grew gradually over time.
Summary: I was disappointed with many things, amongst with the quality of the video. No matter how bright is your room, the picture is always blurred. Also, the camera’s microphone is not very sensitive, in order to get the voice through you have to talk all the time into the camera. Worst part, it was supposed to be Windows 7 compatible, in reality the camera yes, the software no.
