Summary: I have two of these. In one the microphones might as well not be there at all. The only sounds they pick up are when I tap on the the unit. The other requires that I shout to be heard - and, yes, the microphone volume was up all the way. The cameras do do their job and caused no problems. Tried to arrange return authorization and was given static by the company. They expected an image of the sales receipt and offer no other option to document purchase.
Gear Head 1080P HD Cam Sharp picture used on Win7 PC and a MAC friend has

Summary: This 1080P HD cam chosen for school project. The choice of resolutions were driving factor. It was better than built in PC cam, required less light and still gave good picture. Auto focus seemed good, not always drifting like others had. It only offers one video out format, but many possible resolutions. We used 1024 width for robot vision of position. It installed easy and worked for our application. It gives a sharp picture in its uses.
Summary: decent picture but has a terrible mic so it needs work, a lot of glitches and for HD I wasn't very happy with it. I would not recommend getting it if you need a mic that you can actually hear. ANd the stand and mount are poorly made and break easy. junk you should just go with logic tech or by a mic with it or its useless.
Summary: I returned this item. While camera is ok - software only deals with video and the stereo audio is horrible. Buzzy and fades even in a quiet office environment from only two feet away! While I could control the input volume through Windows, that was it - no control at all from MFR software. I could have cutesy frames on my video but couldn't even modify bass and treble!
