Great product, but needs firmware updates out of the box.

Summary: This product works great, I use it as a baby monitor and I couldnt ask for a better more economical choice. There are only a few minor issues with it. 1. Make sure you upgrade the firmware out of the box. The unit I recieved needed two version upgrades. Fixed some issues I was having with the product. 2. Speaker in the unit does not work at all.
Summary: The Foscam FI8916W Works great. I haven't had a lot of experience with security cameras and this is my first. But I think it works great, the picture is good, and the Night vision works great, the Infrared lights light up the whole room like a spotlight is on. If anything they might be a little to bright.
Summary: I've been using a couple of "minion-style" IP cams to monitor my 3D printers for a year now. The IR sensitivity of the previous cams has been a real problem since 3D printers are like beacons spewing IR, and it's difficult to get decent picture quality. The IR-cut feature of this cam really helps with that. Setup was a breeze for both wired and wireless, and the web interface is much nicer than the WANSview one I've been using.
Summary: I have been running the camera for a couple months now. The camera is placed in the entry area to my home. Setup: Had my router status page pulled up so when the camera showed on network, I could easily plug the address into a browser and configure. Also in my router page, I added the mac address of the camera to my services tab so my router will automatically assign a specified ip address. This way I did not have to do a static ip in the camera itself.
Summary: I use this camera as a security device. It is nice for this purpose because it has a motion detection feature and a built-in e-mail function. In other words, it can detect motion and e-mail me images without having to be connected to a computer. It is a little tricky to set up, but it does work fine for me.
Summary: I was just looking for something to keep an eye on my cat and his food supply while away, works great. I kind of a tech guy and setup wasn't too bad. But if you're a non techy or a MAC user the instructions may not be super clear at first reading.
Summary: This was my first venture into the Wifi IP camera with no complaints. The camera works as advertised. I am able to access it through PC, Mac or Smartphone (using a 3rd party app). I was able to get the motion and sound detection to work, as well as the automatic arming. So far the only drawback is there is no audio (1 or 2 way) when using the Mac, but I can live with that for now.
Summary: Those with novice networking experience will require a crash course in dynamic IP's, router configuration and port forwarding in order to be able to view the camera video feed from their cell phone.
Pros: It is wireless. However, it still needs power via PoE or plug the power supply into 110V outlet. Pan, Tilt, Zoom is good
