Summary: I bought this for Skyping on my laptop to my parents. They are using a Skype videophone from Asus - the non-touch screen model. They say that the video looks great and the sound is much better than with my laptop microphone. My laptop microphone from lenovo would have too much background noise and feedback. I took off one star because I think it only works with the Skype software.
Summary: Picked up one of these so that my wife and I would be able to video-chat while she is on the road for business. We had purchased a Logitech C310 HD for her to use, but her computer processor wasn't fast enough to compress the HD signal. The official requirements for the C310 are a 2.4ghz C2D processor (among other things), and her U9600 C2D 1.6ghz just wasn't cutting it.
Summary: N1 is everything they said was, very easy to hook up and use. Of course Skype makes it easy also. Receiving end tells me, the image is great and sound is fine. But one thing I wish N1 can do, and that is an ability to zoom in or out, even slightly. The built in fixed wide angle is great for group shots, but for a single video calls, which is the majority of times, your image is a little remote, even when the camera is set at the monitor, which is just about 28 to 30...
Great for Skype HD video calls, but not other things

Summary: [...] The FaceVsion FV TouchCam N1 is a great webcam for Skype HD video calls, when you can get the HD video calls working. I had a very hard time getting the HD video calling to kick in on Skype version 126.96.36.199. Once I upgraded to Skype 188.8.131.52 (just released), I was then able to make Skype HD video calls. Overall video & audio quality is excellent, better than any other webcam I've ever used.
Great design, good build, wish it was a tad better video.

Summary: i've got no real negative issues with this camera. We have owned 5 logitech cameras over the last few years and keep upgrading to get better video with the family in chicago, from california. The audio is great, the finish of the camera build is VERY nice compared to any logitech. I love the fact that the camera has a mini-usb connector ON the camera, so if your cable dies you can get a new one and the camera will remain good.
Summary: We bought this camera in order to record interviews rather than the 2-way Skype application it was designed for. Some other cameras have slightly better image quality, but the beam-forming dual microphones are better than any other solution we tested. The camera really "reaches out" to pick up even faint speech--even in the presence of other noise in the room.
