Summary: At first this camera flipped me out. I had read somewhere online that this was plug and play, so to speak; that my OSX 10.2.8 iChat would immediately recognize it and I'd be up and running with cam chat on my old Macs. Well, while it isn't quite that simple -my iChat does not seem to recognize the camera- after some digging online and experimentation I've discovered the camera is extremely useful, versatile and lends itself to some great potential with my retro...
Summary: If you're like me, and have a Mac ( Not OSX ), You'll search high and low for a decent cam that you dun have to spend [alot] for ( the apple site's no help either )... well this one's it. It's easy to set up, you just have to install some extentions. Now... the plus side... it's easy to use, and works with most Photoshops and Photodeluxe, not to mention Graphics Converter and quicktime. The bad side...
Summary: Well being a virgin to online buying i just clicked and off I was to the checkout. After all that I went back and saw the review section and I was worried with the bad reviews. After a week or so I got the cam(did I say I am in Germany and with the U.S. Army). I went home and pluged it in and it didn't work but hold on. the instructions say to start Windows then plug it in(don't do it). Plug it in first then start the computer and it will work fine.
Summary: I did not buy this particular model camera, but I did buy a similar model not sold by here, but I want to do all I can to get the word out to NEVER BUY A PRODUCT FROM D-LINK! The camera I bought came with the wrong cable, so I couldn't connect the camera to my computer. It was a USB cable, and although one end fit into my computer, the other end would not fit into the camera (it was like trying to put a round peg in a square hole).
Summary: I got this webcam because I wanted an inexpensive webcam. The driver that came with the webcam does not work. I tried downloading the driver from D-Link's site. The driver still doesn't work. I tried calling D-Link, and the 800 number is not in service for that product. If I don't get this thing working by tomorrow I'm returning it(...) It's frustrating to have a product not work out of the box. I'm installing this on Windows98 Second Edition.
