Summary: This is my first webcam. I selected this over several Logitech models based on other posted customer reviews. I'm glad to report that thus far I am very pleased with the Creative Labs PD1130. It's simple to use, easy to install software, and the picture quality is good. The stand however, is another story. It's made of cheap plastic and without weight in the feet, the USB cable makes it topple over.
Pros: It IS cute. Picture is fine (jerkiness is a function of latency and jitter in your Internet service, not the equipment, as one guy said). Microphone worked fine, not high-end, but what do you expect for the price? Install went OK with XP--no problems.
Cons: The clamping mechanism could be sturdier and clamp a bit firmer on my LCD monitor. I'm using a rubber band to make sure it doesn't fall off.
Summary: Some preliminary comments based on my first few days with the "Creative Labs PD1130 WebCam NX Pro"... * Installation - Straightforward and easy on Win2K Pro. Nicely integrated live shot of the cameras view in the install process, which builds early confidence that the device is working. * Form factor - As others have noted, the three legged base is dicey on flat services (desk, top of CRT).
