Summary: Read the small print. This camera is not compatible with Windows 7. The camera has not been supported by Creative for years. Creative considers the camera to be obsolete and provides no support. They will never create a Windows 7 driver for this camera. It may have been considered a good camera at one time, but if you have any problems you are on your own. It probably works with Windows XP, but next month Microsoft will no longer support XP.
Summary: This is a fine webcam and is actually a very good value with many features you will not find on most cams, especially for the price. The metal case is of excellent quality with superior components throughout. Features include a high frame rate (30 fps), very sharp focusing (not fixed focus) glass lens, fast aperture and good sensitivity for superior low light performance. Most important the lens features a VERY WIDE ANGLE focal length.
Summary: I expected more from Creative. I bought this to Skype with my daughter at college. Not only was the quality of video less than expected, but the entire device died after used only four times. The return policy expired on it several months ago, so I am stuck without a webcam. Very disappointing.
Summary: Tried to install on a Windows 7 computer but windows was unable to locate a driver. No drivers are available from the Creative Labs website for Windows 7 as the product is discontinued. Drivers are for Windows XP and older only.
Summary: This cam doesn't have too bad of a grainy effect like other cams. I have cable modem, yet when broadcasting through Yahoo messenger, it's slow and choppy, even when running "super cam mode". I have a hard time controlling the brightness/darkness. It's a battle...sunlight is too bright, lamps are too dark. I need to turn my ceiling light as well as a lamp on to allow enough light. I have to pull my shades at least halfway or I look like I'm glowing.
Summary: this camera works very well and have a lot of great features, also it include microphone and auricular for voip. the only thing is that for 640x480 does not give 30fps (just 15fps), just for resolutions equal or bellow 320x240 give 30fps capability, however is reasonable because of the price. Other thing that I was amazed is that it works pretty well on my XP virtual machine running on vista, I will try to run it on my virtual box for ubuntu 9.04.
