Summary: Read the small print. This camera is not compatible with Windows 7. The camera has not been supported by Creative for years. Creative considers the camera to be obsolete and provides no support. They will never create a Windows 7 driver for this camera. It may have been considered a good camera at one time, but if you have any problems you are on your own. It probably works with Windows XP, but next month Microsoft will no longer support XP.
Summary: I expected more from Creative. I bought this to Skype with my daughter at college. Not only was the quality of video less than expected, but the entire device died after used only four times. The return policy expired on it several months ago, so I am stuck without a webcam. Very disappointing.
Summary: This cam doesn't have too bad of a grainy effect like other cams. I have cable modem, yet when broadcasting through Yahoo messenger, it's slow and choppy, even when running "super cam mode". I have a hard time controlling the brightness/darkness. It's a battle...sunlight is too bright, lamps are too dark. I need to turn my ceiling light as well as a lamp on to allow enough light. I have to pull my shades at least halfway or I look like I'm glowing.
Summary: this camera works very well and have a lot of great features, also it include microphone and auricular for voip. the only thing is that for 640x480 does not give 30fps (just 15fps), just for resolutions equal or bellow 320x240 give 30fps capability, however is reasonable because of the price. Other thing that I was amazed is that it works pretty well on my XP virtual machine running on vista, I will try to run it on my virtual box for ubuntu 9.04.
Summary: I plugged it into my Ubuntu 8.10 system and it worked flawlessly and immediately without the installation of any drivers or other nonsense. For anyone looking for an inexpensive webcam for use on a Linux system this is an excellent choice. I haven't tried it on a Windows system.
Summary: I picked up this webcam a while back and it seemd to work with no problem what so ever. It adjusted well to low light anytime I would use it in my office which was great. I don't think it is compatible with the new upgrade on IE6 since it started to act up after a few updates were done. I can see people that I am talking to do but they can't see me. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing it several times and still the same problem.
Summary: This webcam just won't work with Vista. I have searched high and low for a driver for this, but none of them do the trick. And to think I just bought this! The Logitech I bought several years ago has Vista drivers and works great, and Creative doesn't even bother updating the drivers for such a recent product. Should've known not to trust the short sighted Singaporeans. Swiss rocks! Avoid this if you plan on running Vista.
