Summary: i ordered this camera because i needed a cheap one. it was sent to me extremely fast, no issues and the camera looks very nice on the outside. the only problem, i can barely see myself in it. i even twisted the thing to try and focus it, but i could barely see myself.
Summary: Summary: I now have several of these web cameras and find them to be very capable. I'm currently using mine on an HP laptop running Windows 7 Ultimate. My laptop has a built-in webcam, but as with most built-in laptop webcams, the quality stinks.
Summary: There are much better available, avoid this "Creative Webcam" unless you are getting it cheap and are only installing it on an XP PC. It does not work on Vista. It did install fairly quickly on my XP PCs (we have 3 of these webcams) and performs well enough for video chatting.
Summary: I can confirm it works fine on Vista... It was installed on XP, then I upgraded to Vista. When I plugger the webcam back in, it went trough the "find new drivers" bit, then showed at working OK.
Summary: It works just fine in Vista, contrary to what I read here and in other places on the Internet. Installing the drive under Vista wasn't as straightforward as it might have been though. Here's how I did it: plug the Creative VF-0040 Webcam Instant into your PC.
Summary: i gave the creative lab webcam instant one star, not based on its performance, but on its compatability with my operating system. i contacted creative lab and there are no current plans on developing any drivers for windows vista.
