works just fine

chilon W., Newegg
9 January 2013
  • Summary: I'm using this with yawcam for a poor man's motion activated security camera. it gives me a bigger view of the room which is what I was looking for. Much nicer than my ancient first gen webcam from 4 years ago.
  • Pros: nice wide angle lens and reasonably sharp images. Decent amount of correction controls and the face detection is a potentially nice feature that I turned off
  • Cons: short cable, limited mounting options and no vertical adjustment

Not good

Edward V., Newegg
31 March 2010
  • Summary: I bought this camera to record the suspicious activities when I'm not home. The software allows you to record every time it detects motion. Unfortunately it crashes all the time. I tried to reinstall the drivers but the problem persists. No tech-support. I would not recommend this camera to anyone.
  • Pros: Wide viewing angle. Decent picture quality.
  • Cons: Terrible drivers.! Terrible software! Crashes all the time.No live support. Very poor documentation.

User Review

JEFFREY S., Newegg

  • Summary: Wish I had gone with another brand. Not making the mistake of going with Creative again.
  • Pros: Cheap if you can get it on sale. Neat effects can be overlayed the picture if you turn them on.
  • Cons: Drivers are terrible. Creative's drivers keep getting hijacked by Windows drivers, leading to a BSOD. The drivers on Creative's website are from a year earlier than the drivers that came with the web cam. Technical support was non-existent. I have to manually uninstall the Windows driver and manu...

Good looking product, not so good results

Tyler S., Newegg
27 October 2009
  • Summary: The clip to attach the webcam to a monitor is curved, so if your monitor's back is curved, it'll slip right off. However, it also sits quite nicely on top of my monitor (without using the clip), and feels reasonably sturdy on top.
  • Pros: The camera looks great and has great specs according to Creative. The image produced is decent, and the angle of view is very wide (although you can zoom in if you want to limit that angle of view).
  • Cons: I'm returning this camera because I could never get this camera to give me video higher than 5 frames per second, which is just plain awful and unacceptable (even after assuring all of my drivers and software were specifically updated for Win7). Creative lists it as 30fps, and I though Newegg did...

Crashes Vista & No Live Support.

Carlos R., Newegg
1 August 2009
  • Summary: Go with Logitech, they have a customer support line.
  • Pros: Good Quality on Windows XP.
  • Cons: Crashed my Vista OS everytime I tried to run the application. Could not use the camera under Vista, all my computers have Vista now. It worked fine on XP. Creative customer support is still to respond to my e-mail. They have no live reps!

Expected more for this price...

PAVEL S., Newegg
18 June 2009
  • Summary: I would recommend Logitech, guys. Really good. But in my case I couldn`t find a camera with high resolution and reliable laptop attachment kit for less than $70.
  • Pros: Fits very well on my Dell laptop. Nice design. Multiple picture settings.
  • Cons: The picture is far away to be good. When you look at yourself while video chat, everything looks perfect, but my friend told me that he could not see me well. I didn`t believe him and he turned his camera around and pointed it on his screen. I`ll tell you... If you`d buy $20 Microsoft camera the ...

Excellent Webcam!

Ian M., Newegg
13 May 2009
  • Pros: Easy to use, just plug and play. I have used a few webcams, but this is my latest purchase and I think I have found one that fills my needs, finally! The video quality is excellent, and the built in mic provides clear sound on the other end. I also like the mount, it fits any width screen from my...

Nice little camera for a notebook

Anonymous, Newegg
12 May 2009
  • Summary: I finally went to the Microsoft NX-6000 for my Vista x64 laptop, and it installed easy as 1-2-3. The Creative is a good product with poor drivers/software support.
  • Pros: Small, high resolution, sleek design. Face following feature works well. Microphone is clear and easy to hear on the other end.
  • Cons: Software suite is 2 years old already, and no updates are forthcoming. Had no end of troubles trying to get this to work on Vista x64. Finally put it on the wife's machine running Vista 32-bit with no problems.

Web Cam

David M., Newegg
20 February 2009
  • Summary: Works with Skype and Yahoo fine.
  • Pros: The camera is really great! Just glad it works with Windows XP Pro x64 like it said it does. Also, works with Windows 7 Beta x64 too. Great picture video feed. 6gb of ram doesn't hurt tho.
  • Cons: Creative Labs Software stinks. It can bot find the camera in Windows XP Pro x64 or the Windows 7 Beta x64. Creative Labs better get off their butts and update the software to work with Windows xp pro x64which is my main OS. And when Windows 7 comes out next year, I going to get it.
