Summary: I just bought the "Aiptek PenCam Trio HD" a month ago. So far, this little toy did satisfy my applications. It's small, light weight and good picture quality. Also, it's simple to use with fair recording and battery time. One drawback is it's small size display that can only provide an estimation on the viewing object. Considering the price and performance, I would rate this product 4 out 5.
Summary: Well it is not even heavy enough to be a paper weight... Can you believe a simple point-and-shoot camera would be hard to use, this one is. Don't waste your time, I have gotten better photos by throwing some ink at a piece of paper. Oh and don't try to connect it to your PC, becuase just making a simple flash drive would be too easy, why don't we make propietery software instead.
Summary: Don't buy it! I got one and it was an entirely awful waste of money! Its photos are awful and fuzzy and you can't have good lighting for it! DO NOT BUY IT YOU WILL REGRET IT A WASTE OF TIME & MONEY ALL IN ONE!
Summary: I mostly use this camera for taking pictures through my computer using the live camera viewing and the software that came with it. The pictures are big, clear, and come out very good. It's very easy to use, it fits in my hand, and the batterys seem to last a long time. Very durable, I throw it in my purse, my car, my desk, and it always works fine. For the money, ease of use, and the great pictures, you can't go wrong with this little camera.
Summary: I can't get the camera to work on my Windows XP. Batteries seem to be dieing within hours. Then tested batteries and they are fully charged, yet camera won't turn on. And there's NO OFF button! And it doesn't record SOUND! How can a web cam not have a mic? And who wants video without sound? And the Compact Flash card is NOT removable so you can't insert a larger (256MG) card if you wanted to.
Summary: I've read some poor reviews about this little cam and I felt I needed to defend this thing. I paid $30 for it, for that meager sum I recieved a web cam that is flawless. Now the lack of a flash should tell you that as a digital camera, it's better off for use outside. I don't really use the 14 second (or so) of video mode as there is no sound and such a low time limit. On my pc, I run "XP" and have had no problems with the driver or the picture software.
Summary: This camera is okay but sometimes the batteries will die and all your pictures will be gone this is good for younger kids but not for older kids because it is more of a toy than a digital camera
Summary: I am using this as a fun stuff, sometimes a web-cam. Nothing goes wrong with this whenever I upgraded my system to XP. I am also thinking of buying another higher spec Aiptek digital camera. Sometimes, I've found reviews said something like "don't buy Aiptek....", I was really curious: Do they really know or use all products by Aiptek? Or, I believe, that were again some commerical tricks - don't buy theirs, buy ours.
Summary: We have purchase several and as long as you wish to take out door pictures and just download them, It is ok but if you want a WEB CAM.......... Don't purchase this product. It does not work and only sometimes can you get the programs to load. Very hard to do in Windows XP! Your computer will not reconize the camera!!! EVER!!! Tech support will not respond to you! You must call long distance to get any help! I will not purchase another AIPTEK product.
