watch strap tool, just the job!
19 January 2012
Summary: Just got a new Longines Hydro sport watch, and wanted to take a link out, felt this was something I could do, the strap adjustment tool was just the job, admittedly the quality isn't the best, but the tool done the job perfect. Once it had pushed the pins out I used the frame of the tool to push the pins back in, using a small hammer and a brass pin punch. Great price and next day delivery....cant go wrong!
Summary: I don't understand all the reviews slating this tool as rubbish I received mine yesterday ,which I have to say was a lot quicker than I expected given the time of year.anyway this tool does exactly what it was made for I can only think the people who slated it did not take their time and position the watch bracelet the right way around or square onto the pin,I myself did three watches within about 15 mins and these were both of stainless steel and plastic links and all...
Summary: Not quite up to the job. I think this extractor would be ideal for the few bracelets I have adjusted in the past for friends and family, using a small jewelers screwdriver or paper clip. But it would not shift the pins on the new watch I have just bought. The watch cost £6.99 from Lidl and it looks like I am going to have to pay more than that to have the strap adjusted, or buy a new strap that the extractor will work on.
Summary: As long as you are careful, this is an excellent gadget which will more than pay for itself the first time you use it. It does require a delicate touch, alignment and a bit of knowledge (which can easily be found on the internet) but it took me under 5 minutes to adjust a watch which required four pin extractions and two replacements.
Summary: Thought I would be clever and try a proper tool. Instead I felt like one. Resorted to hammer and screwdriver, like I have done before.. Well, when you come to use it, it will hit you... OK..it Will work with pins........but not the wide links. Never mind.Thats life!!!! Fantastic!
Summary: Disappointing, I expected it to push the pin out instead had to clamp pin with pliers and pull it out. The item is plastic and flimsy it starts you off but then you are on your own. You get what you pay for.
Summary: This little tool is a must, you have a nice watch, you could take it to H-S to have a lick taken out it would cost £7.50 or more .It is very nice to use."please before attcking your Omega or Rolex have a look for an old strap. slow slow is the name of the game, line up the pin tool slowly turn the nob ,if it dose not move stop reline and slowy turn ,out moves the pin .
