I've done every possible test to prove its authenticity...
25 January 2012
Summary: ...and it passed them all. I did that because in some of Amazon's reviews (not necessarily this watch), some users were skeptical about the authenticity of the watches (some actually were confirming that Amazon is selling fake watches). So, I ended up buying the watch anyway with the intention of doing rigorous research to see if it's authentic or not, and was going to return it if it failed the test.
Summary: This watch works great, looks great. Adjusting clock is easier relatively compared to other Tissot watches. One thing I found too much annoying is the over smart design of strap/band. Wearing and removing this watch usually take 5 minutes for me because the band does not open up completely. What son of gun could come up with such useless band with unwanted extra protection! Buy this watch if you want cuts on your hand while wearing it.
Summary: I love the style of the face - simple but elegant. At first glance, it is a pretty standard watch - leather strap and medium sized face. After wearing it for a month, i am loving the style and fit more and more. The face could be a bit larger, but it fits really well on my arm. The snap-band is awkward to get used to, but I actually really like it since it won't wear the band the way normal buckles will.
Summary: Shopped for a watch for months. This caught my eye at a department store. I researched Tissot and looked at Amazon for pricing. This same watch was over a hundred dollars less on Amazon. The dial is just the right size, not oversized like many I saw. Very traditional and elegant. The build quality for the price is amazing and I love the leather strap. I wasn't expecting this much in a 200.00 watch, thanks Amazon for the value.
Summary: I've had it about 2 months. It is (contrary to another reviewer) a genuine Tissot. The quality is exceptional. The watch looks like the day I bought it. It has resisted scratching very well. I love the clasp. It's a shame that not very many affordable watches come with a clasp instead of the old fashioned buckle. I have a Breitling with a similar clasp, and the price of that clasp was twice as much as this Tissot watch. What a value the Tissot is.
Summary: This watch is simple stylish and understated, but not plain. As buying watches online and reviewing them is not my main deal, so I will focus only on a few details I think may be relevant. I will not be comprehensive, as I believe your choice will mostly be aesthetically and brand based, with a nod to price as well, none of which I will bother to advise on. The band for this watch has been a focal point in the 2 other reviews that exist at this point.
almost perfect - 'nice' watch without spending thousands

Summary: i bought this as an xmas present for my boyfriend. he was happy and impressed - said Tissot is the best entry-level watch you can get. the band's latch is not as strange as i feared, and wasn't a problem (once you figure out how to force it open). I couldn't figure out how to set it, but he has the magical guy knowledge and can do it fine. The watch was larger than I wanted, kindof clunky thick and a few mm bigger than what would have looked best on my 5'7" guy.
Summary: Very readable and large dial, a great watch if you are a Tissot fan with discrete red highlights on the seconds and a T on the second hand, both pointing to the Swiss history and the brand. A very solid watch with a screw down crown, 200meter waterproof may appear a bit strange with a leather band, but I sail and have had humidity problems with other "waterproof" watches without immersion. This one is not going to have those problems!
