Summary: I had my first watch of this model for many years till it broke and searched eagerly for the same model in the internet. When I finally found it offered by various dealers I immediately bought two of those in order to have a spare one of this well designed wristwatch in case it's no longer on the market in 10 years or so. It's hands are very well visible throughout the whole night and the strap is very comfortable. The only negative is that the second hand is red ...
Excerpt: As far as I can tell, this is one of the simplest watches available: you get nothing but a typical analog clock face. I don't like bulky watches. I find them uncomfortable and strange-looking. The Timex Camper, however, is a slim, simple watch that seems to fit well on my skinny wrist. I have had no problems with the watch (but what problems could there be?). Anyone looking for a small, plain-and-simple watch will certainly enjoy the Camper.
Summary: If you're looking for cheap and simple this is the watch for you!
Pros: This watch is very similar if not identical to the field issued squad leader watch. It works after a lot of abuse that I've put it through and the face isn't even scratched. Very simple and easy design which adds in it's durability. Also includes small numbers to indicate 24hr time (or military time)... Keeps accurate time very well!
Cons: Band gets a little stinky if you sweat a lot with it on like I do. However... This is easily fixed by taking a shower with it on. Just a pain that it's wet for a little while.
Excerpt: I bought this watch because I had the Timex Camper in green and loved it so. This is still in the box as a backup. The Timex Camper is very lightweight; easy to read and has a wonderfully loud tick! So if you enjoy the ticking sound as I do - this is a sweet watch. I can even hear the ticking while driving on the freeway. And I still love it!
Excerpt: I love this watch! Usually watches are too big for my wrist; however, this one is adjustable with more holes than usual and the insert where the extra part of the strap goes is movable which is great!
Summary: I bought this watch at a beach in summer of 2004. Wore it for golf, swimming, overseas travel, camping and hunting. It stopped last week. Buying another one before you raise the price and charge what it is worth.. Battery lasts forever.
Summary: I own many watches including a Vitoriox Swiss Army watch. But this little camper is my favorite. The nylon strap has lasted years of daily wear and it doesn't rot like leather or pinch like metal. The battery is long-lived. It's black color and simple style go with every apparel from casual to tuxedo. No nonsense, like me. Simple, like .......well, I like simple and not extravagant! But did I already say I REALLY like the nylon strap!
