Summary: Intro: In my opinion if you like dive watches, this model is a must have. Dive watches aren't just for diving, they make the best beater watches because they are built extra tough and the Seiko line of dive watches are built extra-extra tough. Watch Model: The watch being reviewed is the SKX007K2 which is the black dialed black bezel version. There is another model called the SKX009K2 that has a blue dial and pepsi colored bezel.
Summary: since i got the watch is being slowing down (loose like an hour every day), i tough it was me (the watch works with your movement) that i wasn't using it enough, finally i contact the seller and they ask me to pay for shipment (fine) PLUS 20 dlls to get it shipped back!!!!!!!!!, they receive it 11 days ago (i have the confirmation) and no word from them!! i like the watch, but the seller is not committed to the costumer. update: i just got this answer...
Summary: I purchased this watch off of Amazon about a month ago, and I have to say it hasn't come off of my wrist since. I don't scuba dive by any means but I've gone free diving a few times in the past few weeks, and the watch still doesn't have a scratch on it. The bezel is just great and works perfectly fine underwater, just a bit harder to turn, but it is no big deal. The watch has kept great accuracy in the time I've had it, less than +2 minutes a week!
Summary: Over the past 40 years, I've owned two other Seiko watches just like this. They are practically indestructable. The crystal set below the bezel so it's very hard to scratch or damage. I'm not easy on watches. Mine keeps perfect time right out of the box. The only complaint I have with these watches is the winding/charging mechanism seem to wear out after about 15 to 16 years and they start to lose time.
Summary: Spent a lot of time researching watches in this price range. Extremely happy with my choice of the skx007. Feels like a serious value. Size is just right. Worth noting is the depth of the bezel. It creates a distinct divers watch feel that is hard to see in pictures. The Jubilee band is comfortable and flexible, the contrast of the hollow polished links against the brushed satin solid links provides a distinct look.
Summary: This is a great looking watch. Very durable and I like that the front face is flat, minimizing scratches. In addition, it has a very clean look which allows the wearer to quickly glance and observe the time. However, about 2 years into ownership, the watch started to run fast, by a few mintues a day. I sent it back to Seiko for repair (US Customer service center in NJ) and it appeared as if the problem was fixed.
Summary: I spent a lot of time going back and forth between the Orient and this watch. I eventually went with this watch since I dive / spearfish and this Seiko is was more of an actual divers watch and not just a divers style watch. Although the amazon description didn't say anything about it, I found everywhere else online said that this watch comes with a wetsuit extension (divers extension). This was not the case!
Summary: Outstanding value is what Seiko offers and the SKX007 is no exception. Fit and finish is unmatched at this price point. I've been wearing this watch for about a month and the movement has settled in at about +5 seconds a day, well within specs for this movement. Solid end links would be nice with the jubilee bracelet but again for the money, I'm not complaining.
