Excellent watch for an excellent price
3 January 2012
Summary: I purchased the original version of this watch (not solar), SGF799, 3 years ago and have been very pleased thus far. I would rate the original, but I am unable to locate it on Amazon. I can't imagine this one is any different w/ the exception of the solar technology (which I am tempted to purchase I might add). The watch has worn exceptionally well and kept excellent time. I do prefer expansion bands on my watches, and this one is first class.
Summary: Real fast shipping, the watch is nice looking and runs great. That is why I bought Seiko. It will keep running sitting on my dresser for a whole week without me wearing it. That is just great.
Summary: I had my reservations about the practicality of a solar powered watch but was I surprised as to how reliable this technology is in this watch. I can honestly say I love it. It is very stylish and keeps great time. Setting the day and date is a bit cumbersome but other than that, the watch has performed well beyond my expectations. The price is extremely reasonable, too. You cannot go wrong with this watch. I would definitely buy another if I needed another watch.
Summary: I have for years been a owner of Seiko watches. I have an older Seiko watch of this very design and style. Only it is the automatic type. So, in selecting a new watch, I choose this one. The solar with the blue dial. I was very impressed with it when I recieved it. Had a some what tough time getting the calendar and date set. But, I can up with a way of doing it that worked just great. It's been working perfect every since. And it keeps great time.
Summary: This watch came alive and ticking, with no need for a preliminary charge; adjustment was quick and easy. The solar feature is very convenient. There is just one very minor issue I have with how it works: You are not able to adjust the date between the hours of 9:00 PM and 1:00 AM. As a night owl, this is a minor inconvenience for me.

Summary: I owned a Seiko 5 automatic, which lasted me a good 18yrs, it got old and wasn't giving correct timing. It's now 2 months and I m quite happy with this Seiko Solar, hoping it will last just as long.
