Summary: Amazon listed this watch as waterproof to 99 feet when I ordered it. It IS NOT waterproof, it's splash-proof. Shame. Other than that it's a great looking watch, keeps excellent time and I bought it for a song, so I'm happy anyhow. It's a lot of watch for not a lot of money. Would have rated it at 5 stars had it been waterproof.
Summary: I always have difficulty thinking of gifts to send my sons, who are in their 20s and were much easier to please when they were young children. This Seiko watch was well reviewed by other consumers, and I like the idea of using solar power whenever possible. I took a risk on choosing a design he might want to wear. As with other reviewers, he found the band to be in need of adjustment for the size of his wrist. It could be more convenient to resize.
most elegent, stylish, manly watch every - picture is not accurate.

Summary: update post 11/3/2011: I called seiko and was told that there's nothing seiko can do, and that it's a known issue with their watches, that it either fit or doesn't. I asked if they would have half size link or a different clasp that offers more adjustability and the answer is no. I asked that they forward my recorded call to the CEO at seiko. It's mind blogging to create a watch that will not fit an average hand! It's just plain stupid!
Summary: There is no question that when it has came down to watches, Seiko has been one of the strongest brands of watches for the past several years. They've made some great watches that have worked very well. This Seiko Solar Watch works very well through natural and solar light. No battery is needed when the watch does die down. It has enough energy stored in a solar cell inside the watch, which absolutely works well.
Summary: My husband previously owned a Seiko watch and he likes the new look and the fact that it is solar powered. However, it is difficult to adjust. The watch is a day behind and he has not been able to figure out how to adjust it. He needed a couple of links taken out and the jeweler did it for free. The price was definitely a bargain.
Summary: I was looking for the right combination of price, bracelet style, day/date indicator, case size, and solar (eco) drive and found the SNE039. If Seiko also sold a solar field with similar characteristics I'd have purchased two watches.
Summary: It took me time to decide on a model with a sensible, practical design, among all the silly models crammed with dials and buttons to make the wearer look/feel very "macho", aside of the lousy taste combinations of colors, etc. This one, having the least stupid design, stinks once you have it in front of you. In the picture, it does look elegant, masculine AND EASILY READABLE.
