Summary: I had a Seiko similar to this decades ago. It has the same crown position at 4 o'clock . This is a no frills old school Seiko. It dies not have a Hack (stops the second hand) nor the ability to hand wind it. Shake it from side to side to start it up, set it and go. If you wear it every day it will stay running. Here's the surprise. This one only runs about 8 seconds a day fast.
Summary: I bought this watch because it was 20mm. If it said 18mm I would not buy this watch because it would be a waste of money, and it is 18mm so it was a waste of $50, but I love the watch and will keep it because it's not worth sending back.
Summary: As a mid-size the watch fits my wrist perfectly. The satin-finished silvered dial is very well finished, the indexes are very luminous in half-darkness and the smooth automatic movement of the second hand is very pleasant to look at. The day and date were quite easy to adjust and work well; just don't be surprised when you have a bilingual version, the other language appears very briefly around two o'clock in the morning when changing day.
Summary: Good product, with the great detail of the transparent back. The only problem was that the manual doesn't add information about change the bracelet size or how to set the date and time. Also the days ara in french... which adds an internation flavour even if you don't want to.
Summary: I do like watches & this one looks smart & understated for any occasion.I also like that it is old school analogue automatic, they seem to have a bit more personality to me & interesting that Seiko have reverted from high-tech to relatively low-tech watches.I was a bit dissapointed that you could not stop the second hand to adjust the time as stated in the instructions by pulling out the crown.I wonder if this is a fault or not a facility on this particular model. Also you...
Summary: Lovely watch, stylish and not too flash at all. Great for any occasion, plus the added bonus of not having to change a battery as it is automatic. I'm sure it won't be the last seiko 5 that I buy as there are many different styles to be had.
Summary: The watch is very good, time keeping is excellent. The bracelet is a problem as it is with most of today's straps, in that it is very difficult to adjust to your wrist size. Years ago metal watch straps could be adjusted as simply as a leather strap, but we seem to have moved on from simplicity.
