Summary: I live in Kansas City. I put the watch on a window sill at night and it always gets a signal, but it may have to try more than once. The barometer is extremely accurate. The altimeter can only work for short periods of time because air pressure is always changing. The thermometer matches my home thermostat thermometer, so it's accurate, but you have to take it off your wrist for so long that using it is too much trouble (for me, anyway).
Summary: My brother loved this watch! It has tons of functions and the altimeter was the deciding factor. This is a pretty tough watch and after reading reviews from our military service people over seas decided this would stand up to my brother use. The manual is almost a novel, but to be fair it has several different languages in it. We checked the altitude as we were driving up into the Rockies, tested it starting around 7,000 feet and up to 10,200 feet.
Summary: The only complaints I could have from this, is that you have to calibrate the barometer often and thermometer once (get used to your skin contact), BUT that's not unusual for any barometer just a fair warning for those who don't know. I love showing off to my friends the temperature/altitude/atomic time! And they just say oh, my smartphone can do that too. I just reply but is your smartphone solar powered?
Summary: Bought this for a friend and within a month there was moisture inside the display and it is very difficult to see the time, sometimes you can't even see the time... Probably a defective one I guess....
Summary: It is a really good watch that sort of accurate. The thernometer is accurate after around 20 minutes and the barometer is also surprisingly accurate. The altimeter is not very accuratwe though. it is good at caculating how far you have risen or fallen since you started but if you start the altimeter again after a few hours, it will show you a different altitude or it will most of the time. All of the other features work great.
Summary: Just got this Riseman today. got it in 2 days (today days shipping). Looks very good and the screen is way sharper than on the picture. the only thing I'm having trouble with is the Altitude. I'm on a building and when I press the Altitude button it shows -110 (I'm in miami). Everything else is (Perfect) is like the Pathfinder G-Shock.
Summary: I bought this watch expecting a reasonable altimeter function. What I got was a piece of junk. I have seen the altimeter vary in readings at my house between 30 meters and 275 meters. In other words, it is complete crap. I would strongly recommend that you buy a g-shock without the gimmicks like temp/bar/alt built in. You are paying for junk that does not work. DON'T BUY THIS WATCH!!!
Summary: I received my first watch and it was not fully functional and did not update even outside facing direction of Ft Collins. Returned and received a replacement which seems to function howbeit inaccuately with the Altitude, but it still in 3 nights has not updated and no matter where I set it or even a manual update attempt, it never gets above a L1.
