Summary: I bought this as a gift for myself for Christmas. I think it will also be a decent one as a gift for others. I love the design. The longer I wear this watch, the more I'm getting fond of it! It looks very nice and comfortalbe wearing it. There are something to mention when you want to buy it for hiking, camping. The twin sensor is not very accurate. The digital compass works well outdoor but not indoor.
Summary: If your buying this for the Compass, then "Don't" buy this model! As the compass doesn't work properly. Every time you go to use it you have to "Re-Dial it in" and then you go 2 minutes and check again and it's off, so you have to re-set it! "DON'T TRUST YOUR LIFE ON IT!!" I got it to go 4-wheelen on my Quad to map some trails so we can host trail riding Meetup groups and give proper directions.
Summary: The compass works great. There is a setting to adjust for declination (which you can find on online) so you can get true north or you can opt for magnetic north. The compass shows heading and north for about 5-6 seconds, then the compass turns itself off. I don't know if that is something that saves power or improves accuracy. I presume it was designed that way.
Summary: This is about the 5th Casio thermometer watch that I've had as an adult, and they've all provided good value. I particularly check to make sure the thermometer is accurate (after calibration), while I'm wearing it, and it is. Recommended.
Summary: My husband was looking forward to getting this watch because of all the cool things it could do. Since Christmas he has had to recalibrate the thing three times. When it needs to be done the whole watch says cal so you can not see the time. Other then that it is pretty cool that the watch will tell you what the temp is. I am sure that when he finally gets it set up right it will be a nice tool for the outdoors.
Summary: While the functions of the watch (usually) work, there are a couple of annoying features that have me looking for another watch. The primary annoyance is the time of the backlight - it's only about 2 seconds long and it's not adjustable. There is also no long click to make the light stay on. Anyway, with the the short backlight timer, the watch's secondary functions (compass, etc) are virtually useless at night.
