Display is barely readable in most situations

Summary: On the basis of other positive reviews for this watch, I was under the impression that the 'washout' of the watch display is barely an issue. That is not the case at all - in most situations indoors, day or night, it is not possible to see the time unless you get the angle of the watch correct. It is far from effortless to simply look at the time - you need to position the watch at the correct angle to see it clearly, or use the light.
Summary: Length:: 0:27 Mins I'm happy with this watch so far. It's sleeker, thinner, and lighter than I expected (coming from someone who is normally wears large watches). Accuracy of compass, altimeter and barometer seems good - barometer is consistent with local airport reported pressure. Just took it up pyramid mountain here in Kodiak Alaska. Weather was in the high single digits with wind blowing around 30-40 and the watch functioned perfectly.
Summary: This is the latest version of the ubiquitous Pro-Trek to catch my eye. I've already got 4 of the previous iterations (from the PRT40, through the PAG40T to the SPF-70 1V & SPF-70T), and this one marks a welcome addition to my quiver. They all rank high on the geek scale for style points, functionality and durability. Kinda funny when you think about it; most of the people who buy these probably never use half the features packed into these watches.
Summary: I followed the reviews of this watch and was a little concerned about the display from others reviews. However, after purchasing the watch and also modifying the band as suggested in another review I love the watch! Ignore the sayers about it being hard to read. Yes, it is a bit dim when you are sitting around indoors but this is easily solved by angling your wrist at your face and looking at the watch.
Summary: The PAG240-8 Is a nice watch, but it has a couple of problems:The Screen is very hard to view and the Altimeter is not accurate at all,I have a Suunto Vector that is right on the money, everytime.I wish I could return this watch and pay a little more money and get another Suunto model.
Summary: This is my first Pathfinder and I am impressed. I agree with other reviewers that indoors it can be hard to see the display. That does not take away from this watch. Likes:1)Very user friendly took me 20 min to set it up.Manual was easy to read and understand. I also liked the color and the backlight is not overly bright as to blind you at night. 2)Solar powered, no worries about a battery going dead at the wrong time.
Summary: I have had this watch for a few days now. I am currently serving in Afghanistan. The watch arrived ahead of schedule. I was quite surprised when I opened the box. The watch still had about 60% charge on it after traveling for 10 days. Setup was rather easy. Anyone with technology background should have no problem. Thermometer and compass are accurate along with the Sunrise/Sunset DATA when LAT/LNG is corrected.
Summary: I too was attracted to the look and appeal of this watch as well as the option of being solar powered. However, my only complaint follows suit with others; the display can be somewhat difficult to read in certain lighting conditions. I did set the auto backlight feature and it does help, otherwise I am extremely pleased with the watch. I gave I 4 out of 5 stars simply for the washed out face.
Don't listen to the negative reviews, this ABC watch works!

Summary: I've been eyeing this watch for quite sometime, and just couldn't justify the 200 dollar price, but low and behold amazon dropped the price to 149.99 and I had to pull the trigger on this one. First off I already owned a Suunto Core all black model and that watch is very accurate with it's readings; HOWEVER, that accuracy comes at a price.
Summary: I paid extra for shipping as I wanted my watch before xmas, and for a change Amazon got it right! The watch seems well made, but I think some photo's on here in my eyes are specially picked to enhance the sex appeal of this watch, don't get me wrong it is well finished for a plastic watch but not the best looking I own, but that's fine as I bought it for the functions. The booklet that comes with it seems very over whelming, I am to read all that to operate a watch?
