Great altimeter watch with great features at a great price!!
25 May 2013
Summary: This is a great watch with fantastic features at a awesome price. It has the features of much more expensive altimeter watches along with many extra features such as timer, stop watch, 5 alarms, barometer, temperature and of course time, date. It is also stylish and comfortable to wear.
Summary: This is one of my favorite digital wrist watch. All the functions are working just as it was advertised. I didn't have to read the user manual to set the time and other functions. I'm certain I'd keep using this watch for another 3-5 years. Although I am having a temperature reading on the watch that is not very correct. I don't know if it should be caliberated before use.
Summary: This watch was bought as a Christmas present from my wife to me. I am delighted with it. I have owned a Suunto Vector watch for the past ten years and whilst this Casio is not quite as good technically if one compares the two carefully and also take the price paid into consideration then I think the Casio represents really good value. As previously said I am delighted with it and the barometer and the altitude meters work quite satisfactorily for me.
Summary: Altimeter little more than useless.Calibrated at sea level, returned home, altitude on OS map of 220m.Trig piont on the moor above my house is 308m.Watch reads 15m at time of writing has been anything from 15m-240m.Reading at trig piont yesterday 140m.If you are a even half serious walker or cyclist forget this one.The price has gone up £10 since I bought mine, certainly glad I didnt pay the £160 recomended retail price at high street stores.
Summary: i bought this watch and it is pretty hands-on. very comfortable to wear and quiet sporty. You can use it for a normal day-to-day activities without strain. On the price front, i do not think it offers the best value - compared to what it costs and what it delivers. There are lot of watches which offer better value for money. Also the packaging during delivery is not good. Mine got damaged and Amazon did not reply to my complaint.
Summary: I was very excited about the watch.Unfortunately i was wrong.Altimeter is totally useless. For three weeks after calibration i never get twice the same result. The reason is that altimeter is subjected to barometric and temperature changes which happen every day.So altimeter is basically to see the altimeter difference from calibration point. On the other hand if you want to use temperature indicator you have to take it out of your hand for about 1/2 hour to take a reliable...
Summary: I have never written a really bad review for a product purchased on Amazon before. Ahhhh, the Casio SGW-300H-1AVER, where do I start? Firstly, I waited 11 days for this watch to be delivered, ELEVEN DAYS! thats right, a product bought and paid for instantly via switch card took eleven days to make its way from the seller to me.Thats a pretty good trick in business if you can get away with it, the customer giving the supplier credit!
This is my first digital watch and I think its awesome !!

Summary: This review was written by my step-son who bought and owns the Casio SGW-1AVER digital watch: "I think this is a very good watch for the price with all the nice features. its light weight and has a durable resin strap. its not bulky and the altimeter is accurate. when going up in an elevator it reads altitude change right away, no need to reset the ALT mode. you can choose the altitude unit that you prefer in feet or in meters.
Summary: This watch is excellent value and highly recommended. It is well made and put together and I like the resin strap. I have been pleasantly surprised by the altimeter's accuracy and it gets my town's height just about right at 45M altitude - unbelievable really! Hell, it even changes by 5m when I go upstairs to the toilet!! I disagree with those who expect the thermometer to be accurate on the wrist.
