G Shock 7900-1ER
17 January 2012
Summary: Bought this watch for work, as builing sites are pretty rough places. Watch lookes great , and all the features are excellent, however the moon graph and tide display are pretty much next to useless. The 5 alarms are brilliant, for a heavy morning snoozer or for regular reminders. Setting up the watch is relativly easy , just pick the city and hit the auto receive button and hey presto, time ,date , tide and moon all set.
Summary: The Casio GW-7900-1ER is a beautiful tough looking watch, lots of good useful functions and I really like it. When I got the watch the battery power indicator was on low. After reading the manual I placed the watch near a window on an overcast day to charge. After one whole day the indicator went to medium. So the next day I left it near the window again, it was another overcast day so no sunlight. After the second day the indicator did not go any higher than medium!
Summary: This is a great watch, but can be made so much better: I actually expected a bigger face (have an old Pathfinder which is bigger). This compromises several features. The worst is that the tide graph changes in 2-hourly steps. If Casio had made a bigger useful face, this could have been done in 12 steps instead (i.e. hourly). But the setting of the local tide times was easy. The solar pannel is tiny.
Summary: Great watch, tide graph works well which is why I bought it, the other gadgets all seem to be fine but the solar battery wont hold a charge, casio claim that it will charge in about 10 minutes but after 8 hours it was still showing to be low and kept switching itself down into sleep mode.
Summary: I love casios and am always tempted to add to my collection of G-Shocks due to the sheer genius of their technology. This watch keeps time perfectly by syncing to an atomic clock everyday, but requires you to do nothing except keep it near a window. It uses Solar Power to keep charged, and will automatically go into power saving mode if it detects that it is not being used, or is in the dark for an extended period of time.
Summary: I bought this new G shock watch from the British watch company via Amazon.co.uk and it did not disapoint. I know casio often produced big chunky oversized special ops style G shocks and this is one of them. Not content with the basic battery operated version of this watch on sale in the UK i found the solar powered wave ceptor version on here.
