Summary: Bought this in April. In about September noticed terrible smell everytime the cycle started. Also leaking water in the front of washer on my wood floor. Leaves soap residue on dark clothes. It wrings clothes to tight and to dry. Dislike this washer and Lowe's is going to replace due to the lemon law. They have been out 2 times for leak and can't explain what the cause of it is.
Summary: 11 Reasons NOT to buy this washing machine: 1. You cannot soak clothes in hot water. When I need to soak clothes, it is because a child had an accident during the night or there is a stain - both of these options MUST have hot water to soak the clothes in, but this washer will not allow you to do that. 2. The water it does allow your clothes to soak in (only cold or warm), is not actually soaking your clothes in a tub of water.
Summary: This washer, the Whirlpool Cabrio, does not clean our clothes. It leaves white residue on my dark clothes even though I maintain it with Afresh as directed. Simple things like place-mats, do not come out clean after the first washing, and sometimes not even after the second. Towels, pillow cases, and sheets still smell of body odor/sweat even after 2 washings. I've pulled items out of the washer that never got wet during the cycle and no, I did not over load it.
Summary: I purchased the Cabrio washer and dryer 2 years ago. After 9 months, the washer needed a new transmission. Fortunately, this was covered by warranty. Six months later, the transmission failed again, after the 1 year warranty had expired. I was told by the repair service that the parts were only warranted for 3 months and I would have to pay about $350 to repair the washer and replace the Whirlpool transmission. I called Whirlpool and was basically told too bad, so sad.
