Anyone Want My Piece of Junk Washer??

meg515, Amazon
3 March 2014
  • Summary: We have had this machine for about three years and it has been an absolute nightmare. I am thinking about giving it away on Craigslist. There have been so many problems it is starting to be a joke around our house. Here's what happened: 1. The spin cycle stopped working before our warranty was up. Whirlpool got us in contact with a repairman who literally had no idea how to fix the machine.

Junk

WVFarmGirl, Amazon
11 February 2014
  • Summary: Bought mine nearly 2 years ago. Cleans okay (not great), but not if filled to a normal capacity. Claims to be able to wash 8-10 pairs of jeans, if you add more than 6 they will not come out clean. Towels, bedding- forget it. One out of 3 loads will actually complete without my having to manually stop the machine (unplug) and rebalance. To call it frustrating is an understatement!

The repairman that owns his own business for the last 20 years said “you really bought junk with this appliance”.

Mitchell Soileau, Amazon
5 February 2014
  • Summary: I bought a set of Whirpool Cabrio appliances. The washer failed after 1-1/2 years. The repairman that owns his own business for the last 20 years said “you really bought junk with this appliance”. He said that the bearings are worn out along with the bracket and it costs more than the whole machine. Whirpool will do nothing about it so I am switching brands immediately.

Three year old Cabrio washer scrap

Colin Gibb, Amazon
6 January 2014
  • Summary: Three years old and the tub bearing went out. Was advised by three different techs to buy a new washer. The cost to repair it, if it stayed fixed was 60% to 70% of what it was new. Also was never a fan of wondering if my cloths were clean with the lack of wash water. Was told Whirlpool no longer made reliable products like they use to. Went with a Speed Queen, 3 year parts and labor warranty.

As a cloth diapering mom I can say that this washer is a piece of junk that literally doesn't clean shit!

Tracy_LS "Tracy", Amazon
1 January 2014
  • Summary: I have used cloth diapers for three years and never had a problem getting them clean with my previous two washers (an LG front loader and a traditional non-he top loader). No matter what I do, and how many cycles I run the diapers through they just don't get clean. Clearly cloth diapering is the ultimate test of a washer, but this thing doesn't even get general laundry clean. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!

Inferior quality and lack of corporate responsibility

Hassan Saadat, Amazon
30 December 2013
  • Summary: I have a Cabrio Washing machine with the famous F1 malfunction error code. It is the same problem that numerous other people have reported and of course Whirlpool refuses to recall their inferior product or at least repair the problem at no cost to the consumers. After talking with Whirlpool customer service representative, I am let to believe that Whirlpool does not support the corporate responsibility as it is stated on their website to fix a KNOWN quality problem with...

Dumpy machine, wanted to rate a zero!!

Suzi Swanson, Amazon
23 December 2013
  • Summary: This machine leaves a white soapy mess on all our dark clothes, I am sure it's on everything but we can only see it on the dark. So then I have to re-rince a lot of items especially if I have to hang the item to dry. Where's the savings in that? I called for a repairman to come and check it out and he told us that it was running fine. Then I contacted Whirlpool and they did nothing, they told us it was just a lint.

BUYER BEWARE!

Gracie Alisia, Amazon
22 December 2013
  • Summary: DO NOT waste your time or money. Whoever engineered this wash machine had to be on drugs. Our faithful Kenmore washer of 25 years had finally bit the dust, I wanted to cry. I read several reviews about many different brands and types of washers, ones that use water and those that are water saving My husband decided this was the washer for us, despite my warnings regarding the reviews I read to him.

Some draw-backs but overall satisfied

GJackson in Texas, Amazon
9 December 2013
  • Summary: I have been very happy with my Whirpool washer and dryer. Like some consumers, I too have had problems with streaks or gunk left on my clothes after washing. However, I believe it may be due to too much laundry detergent used. I noticed when I cut back on the detergent, I did not have this problem. Also, it is important to use the clean cycle at least once a month.

Don't buy

Amy Middleton, Amazon
23 November 2013
  • Summary: Bought this in April. In about September noticed terrible smell everytime the cycle started. Also leaking water in the front of washer on my wood floor. Leaves soap residue on dark clothes. It wrings clothes to tight and to dry. Dislike this washer and Lowe's is going to replace due to the lemon law. They have been out 2 times for leak and can't explain what the cause of it is.
