Summary: I don't understand all the negative reviews here. When I bought my Cabrio about 5 1/2 years ago, it was one of the highest rated machines by Consumer Reports. I don't always agree with or go by their ratings in some things, and they can overlook problems, but they seem to have a pretty good testing system for washing machines. As mentioned, I've had it about 5 1/2 years, and I have not had a single repair problem, although I only need to do laundry about once a week.
Summary: I had a Cabrio for four years. It needed repairs every year, the last one was going to be $650 so we decided to cut our losses. I liked that it was quiet but that is about it. We replaced it with a Speed Queen. We also had a Kitchen Aide dishwasher (made by Whirlpool) and it needed a $300 repair on year 2. We replaced that with a Bosch dishwasher which has been trouble free for four years.
Summary: WORST WASHER on the planet! I have had a set for 5 months it eats clothes ALL the time! Totally destroys them! DO NOT buy Whirlpool They don't care. All they want to do is repair it.....I don't want to be Whirlpool's testing department. Nor do I want to continue to replace clothes. So I will be purchasing a different brand, further more I will NEVER buy anything Whirlpool AGAIN!
This machine is a waste. It does not clean clothes

Summary: This machine is a waste. It does not clean clothes. I wash everything on the heaviest and longest cycle and still my clothes do not get clean. I have to presoak everything to even come close to getting them clean. I can't wait to get a different machine!
Summary: We have had this machine for about three years and it has been an absolute nightmare. I am thinking about giving it away on Craigslist. There have been so many problems it is starting to be a joke around our house. Here's what happened: 1. The spin cycle stopped working before our warranty was up. Whirlpool got us in contact with a repairman who literally had no idea how to fix the machine.
Summary: Bought mine nearly 2 years ago. Cleans okay (not great), but not if filled to a normal capacity. Claims to be able to wash 8-10 pairs of jeans, if you add more than 6 they will not come out clean. Towels, bedding- forget it. One out of 3 loads will actually complete without my having to manually stop the machine (unplug) and rebalance. To call it frustrating is an understatement!
The repairman that owns his own business for the last 20 years said “you really bought junk with this appliance”.

Summary: I bought a set of Whirpool Cabrio appliances. The washer failed after 1-1/2 years. The repairman that owns his own business for the last 20 years said “you really bought junk with this appliance”. He said that the bearings are worn out along with the bracket and it costs more than the whole machine. Whirpool will do nothing about it so I am switching brands immediately.
Summary: Three years old and the tub bearing went out. Was advised by three different techs to buy a new washer. The cost to repair it, if it stayed fixed was 60% to 70% of what it was new. Also was never a fan of wondering if my cloths were clean with the lack of wash water. Was told Whirlpool no longer made reliable products like they use to. Went with a Speed Queen, 3 year parts and labor warranty.
As a cloth diapering mom I can say that this washer is a piece of junk that literally doesn't clean shit!

Summary: I have used cloth diapers for three years and never had a problem getting them clean with my previous two washers (an LG front loader and a traditional non-he top loader). No matter what I do, and how many cycles I run the diapers through they just don't get clean. Clearly cloth diapering is the ultimate test of a washer, but this thing doesn't even get general laundry clean. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!
Inferior quality and lack of corporate responsibility
Hassan Saadat, Amazon

Summary: I have a Cabrio Washing machine with the famous F1 malfunction error code. It is the same problem that numerous other people have reported and of course Whirlpool refuses to recall their inferior product or at least repair the problem at no cost to the consumers. After talking with Whirlpool customer service representative, I am let to believe that Whirlpool does not support the corporate responsibility as it is stated on their website to fix a KNOWN quality problem with...
