Summary: I have had this machine for 13 months and it is now broke. My warranty that came with it when I bought it ran out last month. Whirlpool would not stand behind the machine. All they said was that they were sorry it broke, but I could buy a $300.00 extended warranty for the product. NO THANKS! I paid over $600.00 for this machine and it only lasted 13 months. Whirlpool products are junk!
Summary: As noted, by others the water sensor design was great in concept but totally stinks in reality...Got to wonder what kind of quality assurance and testing the company does. Most likely the water sensor has failed, waiting for service repair..Purchased 6 months ago. Wife hates the fact you can't touch lid once you start washing as others have already noted. Would not recommend unless there is a retrofit to bypass lid interlock and there is a design fix for water sensor.
Summary: I am very disappointed with this washer. I had a 20 year old (loved it) my husband broke it by washing large load on small cycle. So, we thought this washer would be great...wrong. Extremely loud and leaves lint all over your clothes.
Summary: First one delivered did not work, second one worked for 2 months. If you open the lid during washing it breaks the sensors. Whirlpool did not have the sensors in stock. Finally got the store to take it back.
Summary: Washer is loud compared to my to my 21 year old Kenmore Washer , Purchased on 11-09-08 delivered a week later washer worked for 6 days filled up wouldn't aggitate made them give me a new one instead of servicing it , then next one lasted six months same problem again
Summary: This washer has an automatic water level sensor so you don't have to guess how much water a load requires, HOWEVER having said this, if you open the lid at any time the water delivery starts over. Say you have a small load and the washer starts the cycle and you open the lid to add a garment, the cycle starts over from the beginning and completely fills the tub. There is no way to reset. The result is a high water bill and you cannot open the lid ever.
Summary: I bought the washer for 3 reasons, it wasn't a front loader (didn't won't the issues they are having), it was energy efficient, & it was suppose to be quiet. It isn't any quieter than my 15 yr. old one that had just quit working. As a matter of fact there are moments that it is even louder. I am not very pleased with the fact that the water will not come on unless the lid is closed nor will it agitate with it open.
