I want my old style top loader Whirlpool washer back! I should have made the repair man fix it.

Conclusion: My white towels do not come out clean enough. I have to use spot remover (never had to before). I rewash now. When a load is in the washer, and it is off, I cannot tell if it is done or if I forgot to start the washer. The clothes seem dry, not even damp There is so little water. Can I add water? I do not like the new washers. I may go looking for an old used washer.
Conclusion: The washer cleans clothes fine and does use less water. However, it often adds time to the cycle for reasons that clearly only make sense to the computer in the washer. Also, probably half the time I need to re-spin the load, as the clothes are still soaked when the cycle ends.
Conclusion: I have currently owned this washer for 3 months. After the first week of use the fabric softener dispenser quit working. No it does not need cleaned (1 week old), even tried using the softener diluted which still does not work. The softener tray remains filled with dilute softener after a wash, if no softener is used it is filled with water. Whirlpool has the WORST customer service I have encountered in my life.
Pros: Energy Efficiency, Ease of Use, Features
Cons: Quality, Performance, Design, customer service
Conclusion: I had such high hopes for this washer but it does not clean the clothes. My sons baseball clothes need two washings with a long soak before. Wishing for my old front loader that used 1/4 of the laundry detergent and got the clothes really clean.
Summary: Abt has great service, but whirlpool is terrible. Buy the extended warranty from abt so you do not have to deal with whirlpool! I replaced the inner tub, belt, and rubber gasket that smells like mold unless you clean after each use.
