Do not EVER buy a Whirlpool product

Angela Gunther, Amazon
17 September 2014
  • Summary: I bought this washer (along with the matching dryer), less than 3 years ago. At first we thought it was a really nice set and were excited to have a "nice, very expensive" set that would last us for years to come. Fast forward 2 1/2 years. Our washer just stopped working. We immediately called Whirlpool. When we were on the phone with them, they gave us 2 options. We could pay a little over $600 to get the washer fixed, OR we could buy an extended warranty for $350.

Both washer & dryer purchased - problems with the washer spin cycles

CNL2, RC Willey
8 November 2013
  • Conclusion: The washer does not always spin dries the heavier items - the small bathroom rugs or heavy towels sometimes come out wet and have to be put out to dry. Disappointed with this performance.
  • Cons: Cleanability

Difficult to Use

Janis36, RC Willey
30 October 2013
  • Conclusion: I'm sorry I ever bought this washing machine. I researched it thoroughly before I purchased it. Every time I use iit I never know whether it's going to shut down or not. I'm used to doing a load of whites with bleach (towels, underwear and socks). You can't put large towels in with small underwear and socks - the machine shuts down. If items in the wash are not similar in size and weight the machine shuts down.

Customer service is lacking

K. Carmical, Amazon
26 September 2013
  • Summary: This washer broke on me less than five months after purchasing it. The repair service has been to my house twice now, and it is still not repaired. With all the money Whirlpool has spent on the repairs, they could have saved themselves money and a customer by simply replacing it (the repairs have now cost them more than I paid for the washer to begin with). More than a month without a washer, and after spending thousands, I still have to go to a coin laundry.

I like this washer

Cynthia L. Spanhel "horse farm owner", Amazon
26 September 2013
  • Summary: I like this washer, but it developed a problem within a few days of warranty expiration. Attempted to contact Whirlpool to find out how to schedule repair. The online scheduling system is broken/non responsive, no one is answering the telephone at 7 in the morning (presently on hold for more than 30 minutes), and no one is available for live chat (waiting 10 minutes on that). DREADFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Horrible

Connie J Tabor, Amazon
26 September 2013
  • Summary: Absolutely the worst washer I've ever used. Ever. The estimated times are a joke. It takes twice as long as it estimates and four times as long as a normal washer. And the clothes don't come clean!!! Horrible.

Don't buy if you want clean clothes

JL, Amazon
24 June 2013
  • Summary: Don't buy if you want clean clothes. Let's dispense with the other reviews that want to complain about longer wash times or doesn't have this feature or that feature. This unit sucks hands down. I am a working mother of two toddlers. I come from a Samsung front loader so I understand longer wash times, sometimes smelly ring, yada, yada, yada. Those are all things that come with a front loading washing machine.
