Summary: I have had this washer for 6 years and it has performed flawlessly until now. When spinning the washer sounds like a jet airplane so I called my repair guy and he says just buy a new one - the repairs will cost about $650.00. The bearing on the back of the tub is going bad and you have to replace the entire rear housing (about $250-$300) AND you have to replace the tub ($300-$400)because the spindle on the tub will be worn out as well.
Summary: I purchased this washing machine three years ago. About a month ago the machine starting making a loud noise. It sounded like a freight train was passing the house. The bearing(s) that support the outter tub have failed. Whirlpool has designed this machine so that when the bearings fail you're required to replace the entire outter tub assembly at a cost of $450.
Summary: I never thought I'd be so thrilled with a washer and dryer! I purchased this pair with hopes that it was everything people bragged it up to be ... AND IT'S BETTER! It's super quiet (both during washing and the spin cycle - we barely know it's running!) and honestly, our clothes look better already. Cheers to Whirlpool for manufacturing such exceptional equipment! Thanks!!
Summary: We're a family of four with two elementary school kids. Our 9-year-old son's clothes can test any washer's ability to get out dirt and stains, and this one does an excellent job. Clothes are very clean and the high spin gets them practically dry before you take them out. I love this thing! The capacity is great. I've been using this washer for over a month now, and there is not one thing I'd change about it.
Summary: We wanted to get the new High Efficiency washer and dryer combo but the local stores were charging way too much. I shopped around online and came across [@]. I do a lot of internet buying on high $ items to avoid paying sales tax and most of the time you get free shipping. [...] After getting set up and balanced correctly, the washer and dryer have worked great.
