Great Compact Multi-Optioned Unit But Too High Tech and Pricey to Maintain
20 March 2015
Excerpt: This is a great compact unit and perfect for condo living. If you don't have much room and need the front load feature, or, don't prefer the agitator - this is it! It is also simple to stack the matching dryer unit on top of with a kit. The wife loves the "quick wash" cycle! However, that cycle is pretty much all we seem to use.
Excerpt: We have been using this machine for the past three years. We have had intermittent f-06 error codes pop up and go away for no reason. It has been a constant pain to get this thing to start by pressing the start button. Sometimes we can go a whole day trying to start the thing and it won't start, then it will be fine for a few days, then back to not starting. Finally the f-06 error codes have come back and we cannot get it to start up again.
Summary: Don't buy. Less than 16 months after I purchased this it flooded the room from the bottom. Turns out the plastic tube that drains the tub cracked, releasing the rubber drain pipe. The service guy said it will cost more to repair because he would have to take the whole thing apart. The worse thing is I think I have to replace it with the same because it's the only one that will fit through the 23.75" doorway!
Summary: Not only is this the worst washing machine i have ever used, it is the worst appliance I have ever used. Absolutely horrid piece of machinery. I'll describe some of the problems to you, and confidently declare that I will never own another Whirlpool product. First, I should explain, that this machine is under a home warranty, and after several service calls, we are still nowhere near a functional washer.
This is the worst washer and dryer I have ever owned
16 February 2015
Summary: I bought this unit to fit into a very small closet and I couldn't find any other brands to fit. This is the worst washer and dryer I have ever owned. After approx. 3 mo. of use, working off and on, the washer shows an A10 error code. The water will not drain from it. The repair man said it needs a new control panel. 3 weeks later and appliance co. says they are having trouble getting the part. Shame on you Whirlpool for making this inferior product. Piece of junk.
Excerpt: We bought it because a combination washer/dryer in a small closet that we had inherited in our new town house was simply lousy. The dryer cycle relied on spinning, not hot air and venting. The unit also leaked. Larger conventional units were too large for the space we had available. We looked around for a bit and found Whirlpool was the most cost effective compact washer and dryer system solution, tied to the vent, and has been very effective.
Excerpt: I bought this about a year ago as it was able to fit in my laundry closet. I live in a condominium so space is a bit more limited. After 11 months, it began to make a sound so I called up the service people. They came and fixed the pump fast. All was covered by the warranty since this happened before the one-year anniversary of purchase.
