Summary: I bought this as a floor model. I thought that was the problem till i looked on here. I have had the shocks replace the detergent motor and bearings replaced( was bad when delivered it just took them 3 service calls to figure it out). This washer has always had excessive vibrating that they claim is beacuse i have wood floors with a crawl space. I have had my house jacked up underneath the washer and everything. You can hear it through the whole house.
Summary: We have experienced the same issues with our Whirlpool front load washer as many others. We bought the washer for Lowes in August of 2012. We brought it home and hooked it up. It worked for 1 load and then broke. Lowes came out and replaced the unit with another new one. No problem. I can understand having a faulting product every once and a while. They took care of it immediately and I was happy. Then about 6 months into using the unit it stopped working again.
Summary: I had the same experience as many others here. When the machine worked, it was great. After 2 years of minimal use (I'm single and travel a lot so often did my laundry on the road), the bearings went out. The parts alone were going to be $700+. I called Whirlpool and got the same line that they refuse to do anything after one year. I thanked them for the disposable washer and called a local appliance dealer to order a Maytag.
Summary: I purchased a whirlpool duet washer/dryer pair in September 2008! Before June 2009 the door locked up and would not open....so they replaced my washer with a new one with no questions asked. So now here I am...2013 and my washer is broke again....not because I have over used it! I am a single woman...with no children so my washer isn't over used. I called whirlpool and told them my washer stopped working after almost 4 years to get someone out to repair it.
Summary: WOW! Maybe have had this 5yrs & for the last year have had nothing but F70 & F20 errors. Told F70 is a communication error & F20 is high suds error. NEVER used anything but He detergent/bleach/softeners and have used cleaning agents as directed. Maytag/Whirlpool repairmen are expensive when item needs assistance of any kind. I love front loads but between a Maytag Neptune & this Whirlpool Duet we cannot find the expense of front load to outweigh all the problems!
Summary: Washer is about two years old when the rubber seal around the housing got a rip in it and flooded my basement. Called customer service and the cost to replace is cost prohibitive. Oh well back to GE appliances they definitely take care of their customers better.
Summary: I have owned this unit for 3 months. It has been nonfunctioning for as long as it has worked. Error codes F06/E03!!! :( Wet clothes locked in drum for over a week) Three service techs have visited without success. They now say wait another week+ for more parts, & another service call, but are still not sure what the problem is. I WILL NEVER BUY WHIRLPOOL AGAIN AS LONG AS I LIVE.

Summary: Like most others we paid about $1,000 for the washer in latish 2011. After about a month the thing sounded like a JET ENGINE taking off. Contacted Whirlpool and they replaced most of the components. About 6 - 7 months later the thing started to slowly make the jet engine sound again. Not as bad as before but still a problem. Store rep said "that is normal" and it should be okay. Moved, and within 3 months the thing starts BANGING really loud whenever you use it at all.
