Summary: The pump housing breaks. There are a ton of reviews I am seeing on other similar models and they describe the issue over and over again. Stay away from this until the model no longer has the pump attached to the washer drum.
Summary: I bought the first Samsung washer model WA456 in Aug 2012. Water would spin up over the drum and onto the floor in the Pure Cycle. This machine was replaced with the same model. Now after having the second machine 10 months the pump cover broke, caused the pump motor to fall and this disconnected the water drainage hose. Water was pumped all over the floor. My hardwood floors are damaged and water also poured out of the ceiling light fixture on my lower level.
Summary: We replaced a HE front loader set that had issues shortly after buying. This is our first top load HE and are very pleased with the results so far. Unlike the front load, when you need to clean out the detergent tray, a load of mess won't slide down the front of your washer and all over your floor and you don't have to be James Bond to clean up in there with a creative brush for your detergent to dispense properly.
Pros: It appears to be magic making a whole basket of laundry that fills the tub to the top shrink down to 1/4 of what it was once the wash gets going! (Or more!)
Cons: As with any machine, it has the potential to have issues down the road. I'm in high hopes of being impressed with this for years to come!
