Summary: One star for appearance. One star for functionality when actually working. I thought I would love this product. Less than 18 months later its already displaying error code E3 (motor). Call Samsung, and now I have a tech coming out tomorrow that I have to pay just to look at it. Go online and read that this is a common problem with Samsung Washers. Dryer lint trap also is faulty. It misses lint and will get build up around the trap that will block drying sensor.
Summary: Like other comments the drain assembly fell off and would have flooded our basement had a water alarm not caught the problem and I was able to soad up the water. I will be contacting samsung to see if they will repair for free as they had done for someone else since this is a known problem with this washer. Definitely do not buy unless you want a brand new washer that breaks down and is a big hassle.
Summary: This was my 2nd Samsung washing machine in 2 years. The first was a front loader and the 2nd was this one. Although it comes highly recommended in Consumer Reports, neither washing machine got the clothes cleaned and always left a weird, unclean smell to them. Both washers broke down only 1 month after the 1 year warranty expired. I would not recommend any Samsung washer to anyone.
Our Similar SAMSUNG WA 400 Failed at 1.5 years. Drain Pump Broke Off mid-cycle...

Summary: There is a known issue with certain models of SAMSUNG washers, models WA400 (mine), WA422, & WA456s made in 2nd and 3rd qtr, 2012. I learned from Lowes that 155,000 washers were affected and that there was an "internal recall" of store-owned stock, but no public recall. What happens is that the poorly designed pump bracket breaks in mid-cycle and the drain pump literally falls off the bottom of the washer disconnecting the drain hose in the process.
Summary: I have waited a while to see how this washer performs over the long term. It doesn't. At 16 months of use the sensor and the motor failed. The numbers on the timer jumped round, never completing the full cycle and the machine stopped running the spin cycle, giving a 3E error code. Samsung was awful to work with.
Summary: Machine would give occasional "codes" for motor trouble from the very start. The Manual said to just hit start and it should be fine. At 15 months (3 months out of warranty) I was getting motor trouble codes. I called for repair and was told because it was a motor problem they would do a 1 time warranty extension - Very nice on customer services part... but... After being repaired it started having more trouble.
Summary: We bought this machine in November 2012. The drum cracked a year later and a technician came out weeks later to fix it. They were all backed up and couldn't get here for quite some time. Now, 13 months later, something else broke and there is water all over our floor. Again, a tech cannot come out until right before Christmas. It is no longer under warranty because a year has gone by. We cannot do laundry for 2 weeks. Samsung has been of no help. Never again!
Summary: Unfortunately I went out on a limb and bought this product from samsung and it broke in the first year. Samsung's customer service is horrendous to say the least. Just save yourself the time and money and get something else.
