Summary: We had this machine for less than two years. Today, my wife came downstairs to find a flood on our first floor, which then seeped down causing significant damage to our finished basement. In looking at the machine, I found the drain pump broke off from its flimsy plastic housing resulting in all the water draining immediately out of the machine. I can't believe such an important part is made out of cheap plastic.
Summary: Please, save yourself the trouble and do not buy this washer. Ours broke within 10 months (which is within the warranty period). Samsung sent out 3 repairmen, all of which did not fix the problem...and we had to take off 3 days of work because they would only come during business hours and not on weekends. After 4 months of fighting Samsung we finally had to call the BBB. After we called BBB Samsung changed their story and finally refunded our money.
Summary: Machine would give occasional "codes" for motor trouble from the very start. The Manual said to just hit start and it should be fine. At 15 months (3 months out of warranty) I was getting motor trouble codes - the problem just kept getting worse. I called for repair and was told because it was a motor problem they would do a 1 time warranty extension - Very nice on customer services part... but... After being repaired it started having more trouble.
Summary: Had a front loader and wasn't thrilled with it (older model) updated to this on thinking that a top loader would wash clothes better. Many dislikes about this model. May save water but burns electricity; takes forever to wash a load, averages about one hour a load. Water barely covers the clothing, agitator (or lack of) barely moves-swishes a few times even with the aquajets on and does not clean your clothing.
Summary: We purchased the Samsung washer a few months ago. Within the first week, it leaked all over the floor. The Samsung authorized repair people came out to fix it and of course it wouldn't leak for them. They thought it might have been a condensation issue, since the hot and cold water lines weren't giving the proper temperature at the time. We fixed that issue while they were there. Within the week after they left, it started leaking again.
Summary: We've had Sears service out to the house 5 times to fix this machine in under a year and it still leaks all over the floor when you use the Aqua Jet feature. We'd have them out to fix it more, but they threaten to charge us since nothing seems broken (even though it leaks). This washer has a design flaw with the Aqua Jet feature.
Summary: Gotta love it when ppl get an appliance and give it 5 stars the day it arrives. Really? Talk to me in a few months when you are on your 4th control board and numerous other problems. This washer is just another pretty face.
Summary: Plain & simple: the AQUA JET feature on this model is defective. Things seemed ok Until the AQUA JET started; then, WATER SHOT OUT ALL OVER THE FLOOR (which also leaked down to our basement ceiling). Found reviews afterword confirming the AQUA JET is not manufactured properly. Try a different Samsung model.
Summary: Bought this washer and the matching dryer in August 2012 and after it broke for the 3rd time in four months, we returned it to the store and replaced it with an LG WT5170. Liked the controls and the look of the Samsung WA456DRHDSU. Did a nice job cleaning the clothes, but what kept breaking was the housing for the drain pump. The Samsung washer is very particular about how it is loaded and was shaking itself apart during the spin cycle after rinsing.
