Love this machine - my favorite washer and dryer EVER!
22 August 2014
Summary: I love this washer and the dryer that I purchased with it- I purchased both in 2007. Today is the first issue I've had with the washer - the drain pump needs to be replaced and the repair is $405. And, I noticed an immediate savings on my water bill! This is an extreme workhorse that can even wash cashmere sweaters so no need for the dry cleaner for most of my winter wear! I hope it lasts forever!
Summary: The rubber gasket that seals the door tore a month after we purchase the $2000.00 machine. Customer service could care less and they wanted $175. 00 to replace the gasket. That did not include someone coming out to repair the machine.
Summary: We've had an Asko washer & dryer for the past 8 years. Three weeks ago, we replaced the motor (VERY EXPENSIVE) and 1 week later found the relay board inoperable and NOT replaceable (discontinued part.) Now we have a brand new motor in a washing machine that is completely inoperable and needs to thrown away. What company discontinues replacement parts for a washing machine that is less than 9 years old? Asko does.
Summary: Major expensive mistake buying a Whirlpool Front Load Washer for $1800. Six years old in a two person household and I am throwing it out. The bearings on the tub have gone bad and a repair of $620 to $1100 is required. This should be a factory recall, the Washer was not made to last. When the Washer was 3 years old a switch went bad and that was a $300+ repair even though many people were reporting the same problem.
Summary: My wife and I have had our Miele washer for the last 20 years and I can tell you its the best made appliance on the planet. I have a hard time believing some of the poor reviews, in fact half of it sounds like poor installation or maintenance or both. We can not say enough about how wonderful it performs and in all that time it has not given us one problem. Thank you.
Summary: This has been a lemon since I bought it. Just my husband and me and the machine is 5 years old and now broken beyond repair. They told me they would have to send it to CA for repair and it would take 3 to 6 weeks and at least a thousand dollars!! The drum has never worked right, and drain problems to no end. I thought if I bought the best of the best I wouldn't have problems, boy was I wrong. The repairman has been to my house so many times he knows my animals.
Summary: Ten years ago my husband and I built a new home and decided to purchase the best quality appliances that we could and have them built in by the cabinet maker. We decided on Miele as was recommended by the retailer, and in particular was the microwave (M65EG)that was installed complete with the surrounding framework. It is an outright lemon.
Summary: We purchased a Miele Washer (W4800) and Dryer (T9800) almost 5 years ago believing the quality would be consistent with their price tags. WOW, were we dead wrong! In the past 6 months the washing machine's detergent dispenser drawer was replaced for the third time. During this same 6 month period the dryer broke 2 belts, caused by a poorly designed drum seal which was also replaced.
Summary: I approached my purchase of this machine with a little trepidation but I have been pleasantly surprised how happy I am with this machine. I would advise that this machine is not for everyone, if you are looking for a SUV sized machine that can handle laundry loads that require a forklift this probably is not your machine. Our requirements were smaller, soon there will just be two of us most of the time and we wanted to conserve water, a precious commodity in these parts.
