Summary: Bought it early November 2013, delivered defective and they won't replace it. You have to let them send a repair tech out which takes weeks, (3). Technicians failed to arrive due to snow but never called, (A&E). So I have a brand new defective machine that Maytag says they will only repair for up to 1 year.
Summary: It Is extremely frugal with water and for regular wash cycle medium load used 0.10 KW of power, which amounts to 1 cent. Measured with precision instrument. Cleans very well (Arms & hammer HE detergent) and spins fast to remove extra moisture. The cycle we usually operate it on takes less than an hour. Noise level is relatively low. Excellent buy for the price, and for us even more so, it was an "open box" purchase, paid $290 plus tax delivered.
Summary: I would not take another one of these if someone gave it to me. It doesn't get your clothes clean, in fact sometimes it doesn't even get them completely wet. The spin cycle does not work properly all the time requiring a second spin cycle. If it does work properly an entire wash cycle takes about an hour. Now let me get to the problems I've had with it. Luckily I bought the five year warranty because I have had it fixed 3 times in five years.
Summary: As far as cleaning the clothes well, it does a good job, has several settings, and spins the clothes really well. My only complaints are the stupid lid locking feature, and when the washer is off balance. I've always preferred to start the water filling and add detergent, then add the clothes; however with this washer, you have to add everything at once because once it's started, the lid locks.
Summary: I purchased this washing machine in November 2011. The washer worked fine for about a month. The washing machine would not stop cycling unless I unplugged it. In other words, it would wash, rinse, spin and repeat until I unplugged it. If I was not home, it would run all day so the repair man came out and put a new computer board in it. This worked for a few months, then the problem with spin cycle started.
Summary: Salesman at Lowes was non-plused with this machine. However, after examining its design, reading numerous positive reviews, remembering my own positive experiences with Maytag and discounting the extremely negative reviews, I bought the machine at Lowes. Delivery via Lowes was speedy (next day) and free. The delivery handlers did a careful job, but failed to balance its feet properly (wife and I adjusted it after their departure).
Summary: The first washer lasted two weeks before it stopped working. Maytag was called and determined it was the Control Board. The wanted to replace the board but after much back and forth we insisted on a brand new washer. The second washer that was delivered fell apart as it was unloaded from the truck. It didn't even make it into the house. We refused delivery. They tried to give us a third unit, but we wanted our money back.
Summary: I am really enjoying this machine. Going from a 15 yr old machine(which wasn't cleaning real well in its old age) to this is quite an eye opener. Things have changed! 1) Love the quietness of this machine. Early on, I had to go see if it was really running. Yup..it was. 2) My big cleaning test was some ground-in dirty, grimy, oily shop socks belonging to hubby. The old machine never got these very clean.
Summary: Works good thus far! Had a few months now and have had no problems for the price! It does make some noise, but it works good. Have two little boys and not mention the hell that i put my clothes through... Don't like how it has to lock to start the wash. Even she likes it.
