Summary: Notice that one star means "I hate it." This machine does not get clothes clean. Socks are getting dirtier and dirtier because they never get clean. It makes a loud grinding sound while "agitating" - Is it even agitating? Some of the cycles don't work. If I want to lift the lid to put in one more washcloth, I have to stop the cycle and it automatically drains the tub.
Summary: I did like the fact that it was $100 off at Lowes and was super quiet compared to my 6 yo GE (that was leaking at the bottom seal and destroyed the transmission bearing) however after about 6 months it started acting up, the washer would just shut off in the middle of a cycle then on 11/10/2013 it stopped again and i was not able to get the tub to drain, i found the troubleshooting manual and followed the directions as written and was able to manually get the tank to...
Summary: The machine was less than a year old when it needed a service call. Now at less than 2 years old it is going to the dump. Three service technicians came to the house and could not fix it. The machine has not even been usable in the last 6 months. I have to take off work for the service calls and go to the laundrymat to do my laundry. I took the extended service warranty at PC Richard when I purchased it and that covered the service calls and now its replacement.
Summary: Having owned a second hand Maytag washer for 10 years and only having one small repair bill during that time, I thought buying a new Maytag washer was a solid investment. Wrong, wrong, wrong. I never thought to read a review on this product because of how well the old one worked. I have had this new washer and had done about 30 loads when it started acting up. It was sporadic at first and would not agitate the wash no matter what cycle I put it in. The 1st.
Summary: I purchased this washing machine from Lowes in November 2010 with the matching dryer from Lowes. I immediately realized that the term "commercial technology" didn't mean squat as it wasn't able to handle a load of towels for a family of 3 without getting out of balance. So here I am 2-1/2 years later and the spin cycle is clearly not working in a regular cycle but will work if I turn the knob to "drain and spin", which I found I had to do on every single load of laundry.
Great if you plan on buying a washer every couple of years!

Summary: I purchased this washer from Home Depot, and I thought I was getting a good deal. The washer performed ok, other than beating up my clothes a little. But my clothes were clean. At first the washer made this odd buzzing sound, and then it stopped. Still ok. Then at the two year mark, the washer made this horrible noise. The repair person said it was the clutch assembly and transmission and was surprised it was such a new machine.
Summary: The worst washer we have ever had. It is two years old, and the suspension rods need to be replaced. They are not going to be replaced under our warranty. Rather, we get a check in the mail for the price we paid for the washer. That doesn't include the installation cost and all the parts that had to be purchased to attach the machine. The agitator starts knocking. The repair person said one should not wash rugs or heavy stuff in the washer.
Summary: Had washer 5 months. About one month ago started leaving white stains and residue on darker clothes. Figured it was detergent, but despite multiple loads without and detergent and using alternate machines, residue is still there. It's as if clothes have been whitewashed. Called Maytag, sent out two repairmen that spent all of 3 minutes running the computer and said, "No error codes, nothing to fix.
