Summary: washer only 13 months old maytag will not pay for anything. All that was said was they were sorry. The repair is going to the price of a new washer. Maytag repair man is long gone as well as old time customer satisfaction.
Summary: Found this at an outlet store for "only" about $450, so certainly less than what others have paid, but still the exact same problems as others have described. It lasted just over a year. Maytag wants $200+parts to come out and fix it, or $360 to fix it and give an additional year warranty. After finding these other reviews and having the exact same problems, with no real fix, I opted for a new non-Maytag machine and had the old one hauled away. What a waste all around...
BUYER BEWARE of the Maytag 9000 Series Front-Load Washing Machine model: MHWE950WW02

Summary: Let me start off by saying it would be nice if we had the option of rating a product with ZERO stars because the Maytag 9000 Series MHWE950WW02 washing machine doesn't even deserve the one star that we are required to give it in order to post a rating. We purchased this machine in May 2013 and have had to have a service man out twice already. The drums in the wash machine had to be replaced and parts had to be ordered. We were without a machine for just over 3 weeks.
Summary: My last Maytag (top load) lasted 10 years. This one worked great until it started sounding like a jet engine on the spin cycle. Called for service and they told me it's the bearings and it would cost more to repair ($1100 parts and labor) than to buy a new one. They were nice enough to spare me $70 service call since they've had this call several times on this machine. Going to buy an LG that comes with a better warranty. Unfortunately I do not recommend Maytag anymore.
Summary: My model is a 2010 4000 series. 0 stars if I could. Bearing trouble twice. If you are still consider getting a Maytag, get the extended warranty if available. My Bearing went out before the machine was a year old, repaired under warranty, Second time just this month 01/2014, covered under extended warranty. My warranty expires in Nov. 2014 Great, now I can assume I may have a year or 2 in time until this problem happens again. Just me and my Hubby...
Summary: Our two person household used our new Maytag 4000 series washer for little more than a year before we noticed it had become much noisier than before. By 26 months of use, we called a Sears repairman who told us it would cost over $800 to repair due to failure of the bearings, tub, etc. and by this time the warranty had expired only two months earlier. We called the Maytag service number and they offered no help for parts, standing firmly on the warranty expiration.
Summary: A few months before the 12 month warranty on our washer expired, the machine started making louder spins. Within a few weeks of warranty expiration the noise turned into a racket. An independent repair person said the bearings were shot - clearly they were going bad from virtually day one. Looking at the comments here, this sounds like a common problem - wish I'd read before we bought.
Don't count on it. The "Lonely" Maytag repairman is a thing of the past.

Summary: Just out of warranty, our washer broke down...Multiple attempts at fixing it were unsuccessful. The service vendor tried to blame the problem on our electrical system, which seemed to work fine for 14 months. Maytag was unresponsive by both mail and phone. I finally got a response after posting on their Facebook page saying they would fix it at no charge. Well........13 service calls and a small flood later, it's finally working again.
Summary: Yes, a rocket takes off every load. You can hear it though out the entire home. Problem started literally the month after warranty expired. Apparently its the same flaw from every other review, just thought Id add another unsatisfied customer. Will NEVER buy Maytag again.
Don't know why there is so much hatred, seems personal!

Summary: It seems to me I have seen reviews from the same angry people on a few websites, clearly they have a bone to pick with Maytag. I read a review for the MHWE450WW washer where the reviewer expressed how much she values the feedback on Amazon. Since I do too and have the same washer for 15m now, I felt I should add my experience. I have the matching dryer, both have worked flawlessly for me since day one!
