Summary: If you are thinking of buying this washer, don't. It took three service calls before mine stopped leaving grease marks on my clothes--the boot was too loose or too tight, I forget which. Of course the first two calls were about how I was washing all wrong. Use less detergent; no use more. Your loads are too small; no their too big. Aha! Your loads are unbalanced. You can't wash towels with anything but towels, sheets with anything but sheets. Still a problem? Hmmm..
Summary: Wish I could leave a no star rating. It was great when we first bought it. I WAS really excited to have a front load. I just want to ditto the eating of clothing...it literally took the sleeve off my shirt...we found the sleeve in the filter. My clothes are not the only ones being eaten...many new shirts get holes in them AND MY CHILDREN's pajamas have had sleeves removed as well...it's terrible..
Summary: DO NOT BUY. I bought this machine locally from a classified ad. All seemed perfect, it was like new! However, it soon started eating clothes on a regular basis, occasionally it would drain water from the entire load all over my kitchen floor , and it sounds like it's gonna blow each time it violently spin-cycles. Also, tiny articles seem to vanish inside it, seriously! I just bought a 6 pack of baby socks....12 went in, literally 1 came out. How does that even happen?!
Summary: I have had the Washer for about three years, I bought it brand new thinking a Maytag would last. The washer has always leaked out the front door and is occasionally very noisy. I was washing a small load of laundry when one of the fins inside the tub broke free and was banging around inside the washer. The fin caused the rubber around the door to bind up with the clothing and wires that hold it all in place! I am told it is over $400 dollars to repair.
Summary: We purchased this machine two years ago. After a year it began to make some very loud noise when it was in the spin cycle. It gradually got worse to the point it sounded like a 747 was gearing up for take off. The repair man came and said it seems to be a common problem with these machines and that it would cost around $800 to fix it!!!!! He said just a week before a family in the same neighborhood had the exact same problem.
Summary: I bought this washer brand new and within 3 months it started ripping up our clothes. They came to repair it. After buying a new wardrobe and not even a year and a half later, it is doing it again. Things get sucked into the drain and I am constantly having to empty it because it is leaking. All of our clothes are being ruined again, getting holes, tears, and rips in them. Maytag refuses to do anything about it. Then DON'T sell people a faulty machine like this!!
Summary: This washer is the worst purchase ever!! I bought the original 4 years ago and had to have maintance on it regular. The seal went out, the drum broke and need replaced, the motor had issues, it was eating clothes. Finally this last February (2013) they replaced the whole thing with a new washer. The new washer was delivered in March of 2013 and the day before Thanksgiving it started smoking. Good thing my husband was home so my house didn't burn down.
Summary: I can't add much to the other reviews. It doesn't clean effectively, no matter how how well you stick to the stupid commandments that the God of the Front Loading Washer hath decreed. Bath towels and tee shirts smell like a gym locker room. The door seal is covered in slimey black mold. Every cycle takes an eternity. And to top it off, this monstrosity started leaking and caused a sizeable flood - almost exactly three years after purchase.
Maytag offered the parts to repair BUT not the repair
Neufman "Neufman", Amazon
14 October 2013
Summary: We bought the machine and it was fine for a while. Then it started to make noise like an airplane taking off in your house. So we we were told the cost of the repair and parts was more than double the cost of the machine - try that for logic! So we complained and Maytag said they would provide the drum to us free of charge...allegedly a $900 part, which makes it more than the cost of the machine.
