Summary: My Maytag 2000 series high efficiency washer stopped working after 13 months. Two repair visits (well, the second visit the repairman was a no-show) and still no working washer. They did offer to let me pay 300 dollars a year for a warranty. This is not a good product. I paid over 600 dollars for this product, and it is junk. Maytag does not make a quality product anymore. I will not be buying another Maytag product.
Summary: While i was out of the country my wife purchased Maytag washer and dryer set Model MEDE200XW1 and Washer model MHWE200XW00. During few months especially the washer had multiple problems, Started with ripping clothes, Front seal Failure, Bearing worn out. This is not the Maytag which i knew once. The quality is just not there. This product is pure engineering failure. and maytag should know this. I am just wondering why there hasn't been a recall.
Summary: We have had the MHWE 200XW for about a year and half, once a month this machine will damage clothes by catching between the rubber boot and the drum while spinning. We have had about $300 in clothes damaged over the past six months. Had Maytag repair man out past week says it is a design flaw and cannot be repaired.
Summary: I've had this washer for 7 days and am already trying to return it. Smaller items get stuck under the door and pushed into the gap in the door gasket. Every load I have run so far, I have had to pull out soaking wet socks, dishrags, etc from the gap in the door gasket....and they were not clean because they did not go through the complete cycle with the rest of the clothes. I called Maytag about the problem and they said it happens.
Summary: We are just two weeks past the one year warranty and it breaks down. I go in to check on my load of laundry and find that the whole rubber lining that must be around the tub, has come loose, ripped, and twisted itself all around our clothes. We have never seen anything like it. One year is all that I have had this machine. I don't overload my washer, use the soap that I am supposed to, and this happens? What a waste of money.
Summary: We are a family of five and do laundry daily. I expected to use this washer for years for how much we paid for it. When it works, it works well. However, it doesn't work more than it does! Within the first six months (while under warranty) the washer broke down three times. I wouldn't spin out the clothes and had error codes. Now, just two weeks out of the one year warranty it is smoking! When I opened the washer there was rubber everywhere . . .
Summary: I bought this Maytag Front-loader hoping to get more life out of washing machine. Our previous Whirlpool Duet Washer had lasted 5 year (looking back that was great!!) I bought this in September 2010, at the one year mark it started eating clothes. The items would come out with large holes (especially cotton items). After over $200 in repairs it improved somewhat but now the thing sounds like a freight train.
Summary: Maytag has reduced its product warantee to just 12 months--1 year--in which time not much usually goes wrong. But if you buy an expensive front load unit that has a failure of its baring after only 2.5 years, which means $1000 repair or buy a new washer, it makes a difference that the company no longer stands behind its products. Save yourself money and time and trouble and don't buy a maytag.
