I bought this machine and matching dryer in April, 2013. I was impressed with its color, size and sleek design. The machine worked wonderfully for us until a few months ago. Suddenly, every 5th or so wash load would be completed without draining. I'd have to rinse and spin them again. ( This model doesn't have a spin only feature, another pet peeve especially when it was leaving massive amounts of water in the tub ). This was annoying but I didn't call the repairman as I rationalized that maybe I did something wrong or the load was too full. Finally, the machine bit the dust two weeks ago. ( August, 2014 )It wouldn't fill, turn on, anything. Just kept beeping and showing funny codes on the display. We called for repairs ( that would be a whole other review of the extra warranty we purchased...in a nutshell...wish I hadn't bothered buying it as it didn't matter much as we were basically out a ton of cash and forced to use our credit at a store that treated us poorly after sale ). The repairman came and determined that the motherboard was fried. It was covered under our extra warranty. But it was slightly over a year old so it wasn't covered by Maytag. So beware. That's a major repair for such a new machine. It was so expensive that the warranty company opted to give us back the $943 we paid in store credit for it. Also, I never found that the steam function really got my clothes any cleaner than without using steam. It was a great machine at first, but who wants to spend that kind of money for one year's use? I'm never buying Maytag again.
