Summary: Thumbs up for this portable washing machine. It's not perfect- there is no agitator and the clothes do come out a little extra twisted but after 10 loads and running it all different cycles, I am happy to report that no clothes have been negatively affected (no holes or tears found). I also recommend laundry bags for your delicate laundry for this machine too. Another plus is that the control panel does work well- for the cycle options.
Summary: We bought it for our apartment where the landlord doesn't allow permanent washer hook up. It is damaging our clothing by twisting it so badly that we are not using it anymore. I am going to put it on craigslist for free. Stay away.
Summary: You CAN NOT leave your wash alone if you buy an AVANTI washer. They don't make washers with agitators, so the pulse mode does not clean as normal washers do, if you're used to regular machines with agitators in the middle. I used to have a portable washer, easy to "click" onto the faucet, with a snap-on head on the hose. This has a screw-on mode, and if you don't watch out, water will leak and spray out (mine even spray onto the cabinets!).
Summary: The machine arrived and everything looked O.K. except the hoses which are made of the cheapest plastic. We removed the faucet aerator as the instructions indicated and connected as tightly as possible their connector. Connected to the washer and turned on the water. The water was flying everywhere. Disconnected and went to home depot to buy better connection and I had no luck there. Finally I found something at Ace Hardware, go back home and tried on.
Summary: I've had this washer nearly a month now and have done probably 6 loads so far. I got this washer after reading good reviews about it elsewhere online (even though some of the ones here on Amazon aren't so great), and I've been pleased. A few things I have done that might mean I don't run into the problems other people were having: -Even though this washer is portable, it is BIG! Almost full size. (I've done loads of sheets and towels (plural!) with no problem.
Summary: I purchased this washer two weeks ago, and I absolutely love it. I was amazed at how much can fit into it. I have even washed my queen size comforters in it on the heavy cycle. I did take the advice of several reviewers and bought the good washer hoses but I did find that the drain hose is a bit flimsy the hard way when the hose came out of the sink and flooded my kitchen, lol. I now anchor it with a heavy towel or something of that sort.
Summary: This machine is the flimsiest piece of junk I've ever had the misfortune to own. I don't usually take the time for reviews, but I feel I have to warn people away from this item. The motor is so weak it could not spin a load with 3 shirts, a pair of pjs and some underwear. If there's anything long about your clothes, (sleeves, legs), beware, they will tie up in knots unless you babysit the machine to untangle after it drains for the rinse.
Summary: The load size is about 2/3 of a regular washing machine's. The "speedy"cycle is useful when wanting a quicker wash, and the pause function allows additional items of clothing to be added at anytime. (The machine stops automatically when the lid is lifted during the wash cycle, however, the pause button is a less abrupt option.) Sheets and towels get dropped off at the laundromat (because it's nice to have them washed, dried and folded).
