Summary: The machine itself is fine, although not great for the money it costs. The real problem is customer service. I needed to replace a fuse holder and repair clinic didn't have them in stock so my options were to pay a service person to change my fuse for $90 or wait without a machine for 3 weeks until Repair clinic got it in stock. The Asko parts department had the item in stock but they can't sell to the public. It is their policy and rules are rules.
Summary: I haven't opened or tried the washer yet, because remodel is still ongoing. However the washer was delivered very quickly even with it being a special order. Washer was delivered with the packaging in excellent condition. I don't anticipate any problems. Thank you!!
Summary: This washer replaces an earlier model Asko that got nearly 20 years of good use. This model is quieter, the controls are easier to use. It only requires a cold water connection. Hoping to get 20 years from this washer as well.
Summary: Let me start with the power source. 220v rules. No only is efficient, it is also a connection saver. Just by daisy chain the washer with the dryer it will save you an extra connection on the wall. Also, it looks so small, but, you can pack this little giant like any other machine and it does its' job well. Quiet, quiet, quiet. I can continuing enjoy my soft music while the washer is working.
Summary: This replaced current model with controller acting up. I see this one has new digital controller so expect no problems. Wife did note that now temperature is only selectable by choosing a cycle though. I still have old one and will look at when I have time since only ten years into expected twenty year life. Cost of labor prompted me to buy new one (plus needed clean clothes).
Summary: I live in the city and bought the W6222 after doing much research. After 6 months of extensive use, I cannot complain Asko has got it right with the white cycle. I have never seen whites come out whiter without the use of bleach. The water is heated to 205F and that combined with oxidizing detergent, breaks down all the dirt. As with all washers in Europe, this one takes its time to wash, but the results are obvious; clean clothes, washed gently.
Summary: there is some venting of extra humidity into the room the dryer is in while it is running. This is a boon in the dry winter of New England, and in the summer, I can open windows. If this were in a room without windows, I'd be cautious about using it in warm weather.
Summary: The Asko W6222 washer is equipped with an internal water heater, connects only to a cold water intake, and heats the water quickly to the temperature of your choice without placing any burden on your regular large water heater, thus saving energy. It can be programmed to spin-dry at a high speed, so clothes emerge close to dry, saving time for the clothes dryer and saving even more energy.
