Great hot fresh waffles in the morning, nothing better!

jmheineken, Viewpoints
25 November 2014
  • Excerpt: I love hot fresh waffles in the morning (one of the best parts of staying at a hotel with free breakfast!), with this waffle maker you can bring that experience home. Makes fresh waffles with audible alarm for turning, never burns and works great!

Terrible design, poor quality.

Amy J, Amazon
4 November 2014
  • Summary: So disappointing. A friend gave this waffle iron to us because our old one (which we'd had for at least 10 years) broke and she wasn't using hers. She'd only used it once or twice. We used it about three times before it got hopelessly jammed at a 90 degree angle.

Fred in Augusta GA

Fredrick F. Brown "freddiebee", Amazon

  • Summary: Waffle works great, cooks even and easy to clean up. The only drawback is that you must level the Iron when putting the mix on the grill to make sure the battle is distributed equally.

Rotary part stuck & broke

RCB, Amazon
31 October 2012
  • Summary: I gave this 3 stars because we loved how it worked and cooked the waffles perfect. We have had it for little over a year. Then the rotary part started sticking, locking it so you couldn't flip it over.

simpify wherever possible, Amazon
10 May 2012
  • Summary: Chose West Bend over Black and Decker, seems to have been a mistake. Used one or two times per month and cheap plastic handle broke after six months. I have just contacted the manufacturer and I will see how they address this failure before making final judgement, but at this point, I wish that I...

Sticky Situation

waffler, Amazon
4 August 2011
  • Summary: Well reading the reviews prompted me to buy this little beast... let me tell ya, the price doesn't justify the grief! After meticulously following the instructions for first time use, the waffles stuck, and were a real pain to get out, in dozens of pieces.

Handle Broke after 3rd Waffle on first use

Kev, Amazon
3 June 2011
  • Summary: This is a terrible waffle maker. The handle broke only on the 3rd waffle on the first use. The rotary part is stuck and no longer work. The temperature nob is about to break too. This is a really poor design. Don't bother buying this product. It's just a waste of your money.

  • Summary: I made my first belgian waffle and the handle snapped completely off. Poor design and bad quality. I returned it and got a full refund. I will be shopping for a new one that is better made! I expected better from Westbend...oh well!
