Summary: This is one of the poorest built items that I have ever purchased. Clearly Cuisinart is not doing adequate quality control, at least for this product. We liked the waffles it made, but really, the quality of the waffles has more to do with the batter than the waffle maker.
Summary: The manufacturer sent a new one which is just as bad or worse than the first one. There must be a design or manufacturing change since the earlier favorable reviews posted here.
Pros: Makes an OK waffle, which doesn't stick, if you can stand the odor produced from the unit. We could not stand it.
Cons: We used this less often than planned because although the waffles were good, a foul odor smelled up the house during cooking which took the edge off our appetites. We tried 4 or 5 times over 10 months then gave up and returned it under warranty.
Summary: I was gifted a waffle iron a good 10+ years ago; it looked a lot like the one I've bought again. Almost instantly I am reminded why I used the first waffle iron I had once and let it collect dust until I donated it when I moved last.
Summary: On the plus side, we have been getting waffles which are consistently done to the level we select. After the first one or two waffles when this was new we have had no trouble with sticking. Now for the problems. 1) The handle is short and placed where the steam comes out as the maker opens.
Excerpt: We bought the WMR-CA waffle maker to replace our 30+ year old one, which finally bit the dust. We decided we didn't need an expensive one, and found this one on sale. After 5 or 6 uses, we couldn't be happier.
Pros: Easy to use, indicator lights accurate, cooks evenly
